
This year, DC will release the movies Supergirl and Clayface. Then, in 2027, James Gunn, who co-leads DC Studios, will direct the next Superman film, titled Man of Tomorrow.
Filming is currently happening on the new Superman movie, which will feature David Corenswet as Superman teaming up with Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor. They’ll have to work together to defeat the villain Brainiac, portrayed by Lars Eidinger.
The new DC Universe, led by James Gunn and Peter Safran, will connect stories and characters from shows like Peacemaker and Lanterns, as well as the upcoming Supergirl film. David Corenswet as Superman

Superman, originally named Kal-El, is an alien from the planet Krypton. He arrived on Earth as a baby and was raised by adoptive parents as a typical boy. In the upcoming movie, he’ll surprisingly be forced to work with his enemy, Lex Luthor.
You might recognize David Corenswet from his roles beyond Superman! He’s well-known for appearing in Ryan Murphy’s Netflix shows, The Politician and Hollywood, and the horror film Pearl. He’s also been in the movie Twisters, and has had parts in TV series like Moe & Jerryweather, Elementary, House of Cards, We Own This City, and Lady in the Lake.
Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor

Lex Luthor is a wealthy businessman and self-proclaimed genius who is known as Superman’s enemy. He’s back, and surprisingly, finds himself forced to team up with the very hero he once tried to defeat.
You probably recognize Nicholas Hoult from a few different roles! He started gaining attention as a young actor in ‘About a Boy’ with Hugh Grant and as Tony in the series ‘Skins’. More recently, he’s known for playing Beast in the ‘X-Men’ films, Nux in ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’, and has appeared in movies like ‘The Favourite’, ‘The Menu’, ‘Warm Bodies’, ‘Tolkien’, ‘Renfield’, ‘Juror No 2’ and ‘Nosferatu’.
Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane

Who is Lois Lane? The Daily Planet’s tenacious lead reporter and Clark Kent’s partner.
Many people recognize Rachel Brosnahan as Midge Maisel from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. She’s also appeared in several other TV shows like The Blacklist, House of Cards, and Manhattan, and films including Beautiful Creatures, Louder Than Bombs, and Spies in Disguise. You might also know her from The Courier or The Amateur.
Lars Eidinger as Brainiac

Brainiac is the main villain in the movie. He’s an incredibly smart cyborg from the planet Colu who comes to Earth seeking knowledge and hoping to take control of the entire universe.
You might know Lars Eidinger as a talented German actor who’s become well-known in independent films. He’s appeared in movies like White Noise, Personal Shopper, and A Hidden Life, and will be in the upcoming film Jay Kelly.
Milly Alcock as Supergirl

Supergirl, whose real name is Kara Zor-El, is Superman’s cousin and comes from the planet Krypton. She’ll be back in the upcoming movie Man of Tomorrow after starring in her own film, Supergirl, which is scheduled for release in 2026. Fans briefly saw her at the end of the 2025 Superman movie.
Many people first noticed Milly Alcock as young Rhaenyra Targaryen in the HBO series House of the Dragon, and she’s now playing Supergirl. Before that, she appeared in shows like Upright, The Gloaming, Pine Gap, Reckoning, and Sweet River, and more recently, she was in the Netflix series Sirens.
Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl

Hawkgirl, also known as Kendra Saunders, is a superhero who fights crime with a mace and by flying – she’s part of the Justice Gang.
Many people will recognize Isabela Merced from her roles in Dora and the Lost City of Gold and Transformers: The Last Knight. More recently, she’s appeared in Madame Web, The Last of Us, Instant Family, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Sweet Girl, Turtles All the Way Down, and Alien: Romulus.
Aaron Pierre as Green Lantern

John Stewart is a former Marine who becomes a peacekeeper throughout the galaxy. He will first appear as the leader in HBO’s upcoming “Lanterns” series.
You might recognize Aaron Pierre from several recent projects! He’s known for his roles in films like Old, Rebel Ridge, Mufasa: The Lion King, and Goat, and TV series including The A Word, Britannia, Krypton, The Underground Railroad, Genius, and The Morning Show. He’s set to appear as John Stewart in the upcoming series Lanterns.
Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific

Mister Terrific is a brilliant inventor and a member of the Justice League. He gained prominence in the 2025 movie.
You might recognize Edi Gathegi from his roles as Darwin in X-Men: First Class and Laurent in the Twilight films. He’s also appeared in movies like Aloha and The Harder They Fall, and on TV shows including House M.D., Justified, The Blacklist, StartUp, Briarpatch, and For All Mankind.
Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner

Who is Guy Gardner? The brash, bowl-cut Green Lantern of Earth and a member of the Justice Gang.
If you recognize Nathan Fillion, it’s likely from one of several popular roles! He frequently works with director James Gunn, appearing in films like Slither, Super, Guardians of the Galaxy, and The Suicide Squad. But he’s most famous for starring in Firefly and Serenity, as well as the TV series Castle and The Rookie. He also had a role as Caleb in the last season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica / The Engineer

Angela Spica, also known as The Engineer, is a special operative with nanotechnology that allows her body to transform into liquid metal.
You might recognize María Gabriela de Faría from her role as the star of the Nickelodeon show Grachi, which made her famous throughout Latin America. More recently, she played The Engineer in Superman, gaining international recognition.
Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr

Rick Flag Sr. is a tough, no-nonsense commander at ARGUS, and he’s the father of Rick Flag Jr. You might recognize Rick Flag Jr. from appearances in Creature Commandos and season 2 of Peacemaker.
You might recognize Frank Grillo from his roles as Crossbones in Marvel movies, or as the lead in The Purge: Anarchy and The Purge: Election Year. He’s also appeared in the TV series Kingdom, Billions, and Tulsa King.
Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen

Eve Teschmacher was Lex Luthor’s ex-girlfriend and a social media personality who had a strong infatuation with photographer Jimmy Olsen.

Adria Arjona as Maxima

Maxima is a powerful warrior queen from the planet Almerac, known for her telepathic abilities and often depicted as having romantic feelings for Superman. Actress Arjona is set to portray her.

I’m a huge fan of Sinqua Walls! You might recognize him from a bunch of great shows and movies. I first noticed him in Friday Night Lights, but he’s also been in Power, Once Upon a Time, and American Soul. More recently, I loved him in films like The Blackening, White Men Can’t Jump, and Carry-On. He’s seriously talented and always delivers a great performance!
Man of Tomorrow will be released in cinemas on 9 July 2027.
