We spotted something interesting in the trailer for Sony’s new PlayStation 5 monitor that wasn’t immediately obvious.
If you watch the entire video, you’ll see a notice appear when gameplay of Ghost of Yotei is displayed, stating: “Game only available on PS5.”
Usually, this wouldn’t be something we’d even notice – it’s standard legal wording. And it’s correct that, currently, you can only play the new Sucker Punch game on the PlayStation 5.
However, as Twitter user Zuby Tech points out, this statement becomes more significant when you remember that Sony recently stopped planning to release its exclusive PlayStation games on PC.
The company hasn’t officially said anything yet, but journalist Jason Schreier – known for accurate reporting – has confirmed the information. Apparently, one game, called Ghost of Yotei, was originally intended to be released on PC, but those plans have now been dropped.
It seems this wording is likely just a legal clarification stating that Ghost of Yotei is currently a PlayStation 5 exclusive, especially since it’s a game that could also be played on a PC. This is particularly relevant given Sony’s recent move away from platforms like Steam.
Okay, so this might not be the most groundbreaking news I cover, but I wanted to share it anyway because I think it’s interesting and worth mentioning.
