Crimson Desert DLC in Development, Second Content Roadmap Revealed

Pearl Abyss just released a new plan outlining the free updates coming to Crimson Desert over the next few months. Now that they’ve fulfilled their initial promises, they’re sharing a timeline of what players can expect between now and September.

I’m so excited! On top of all the free updates we’re getting, the developers just announced they’re officially working on some DLC! They haven’t revealed what it’ll be exactly, but they want to make sure it really adds something special to the game and feels like a worthwhile expansion to the world we already love.

Considering how quickly Pearl Abyss is adding content, it feels like the game is growing into a full-fledged sequel. I’m exaggerating, but honestly, after seeing everything they’ve accomplished since launch, it wouldn’t be shocking if it did.

Between now and September, the studio is focusing on the following:

  • Story Improvements

We’ve been listening to your feedback about the story, and we’re working to make Kliff’s journey even better. We’re focusing on improving how scenes connect to create a smoother and more captivating experience. We think these changes will offer something fresh, even for players who are already familiar with Pywel.

  • Re-Blockade Update

We’re updating Re-Blockade to make attacking and defending strongholds feel smoother and more realistic. We’re also increasing the rewards you earn when you liberate these strongholds, making the effort more worthwhile.

  • New Combat Content

We’re adding new challenges designed for combat, giving players a chance to really test their skills as a Greymane. We’ll share more information soon.

  • Cross-Save

We’re adding a cross-save feature for Pywel, letting you pick up where you left off on different devices. Once you link your account, you can share your progress between PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

  • Damiane and Oongka Gameplay Improvements

We’re making improvements to the game experience for both Damiane and Oongka. We’re also balancing the characters so that all three playable heroes feel equally strong and useful.

  • Quality of Life Improvements for Non-Combat Content

We’re continuing to improve things like trading and farming to make them more convenient for players.

Pearl Abyss has been consistently improving Crimson Desert with significant updates, and we’ve increased our PS5 review score to an 8 out of 10 to reflect those changes.

This game attempts a lot of different things, but it would have been stronger if it had concentrated on its best features. Despite this, it’s a massive and immersive open-world adventure with some genuinely amazing moments, and it’s improved significantly since it first came out.
