Fans celebrated World Outlander Day with exciting news: the premiere date for season two of ‘Outlander: Blood of my Blood’ has been announced by MGM+ and Sony.
The second season of the Outlander prequel is officially coming on Saturday, September 19th – so fans can expect new episodes in just a few months!
Like the original Outlander series and its spin-off, new episodes will likely be released weekly on MGM+. This means fans can enjoy the show for several months after it first airs.
It hasn’t been a very long wait between seasons of Outlander, and with the recent conclusion of the eighth and final season, fans won’t have to feel sad for long before the new series, Blood of My Blood, arrives.

We recently got a sneak peek at the upcoming season of Blood of my Blood, hinting that the show’s main couples – Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, as well as Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp – will be back.
Returning for the second season are Tony Curran (known for Mary & George) as Simon Fraser, Lord Lovat, Séamus McLean Ross (from California Schemin’) as Colum MacKenzie, Sam Retford (of Grace) as Dougal MacKenzie, Rory Alexander (Pistol) as Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser, and Conor MacNeill (Industry) as Ned Gowan.
Henry and Julia were last seen apart in the Scottish Highlands during the 1700s, but they ultimately found each other again at the ancient stones of Craigh na Dun.
Season 2 begins immediately after the events of the finale, showing Julia alone with their baby and deeply upset. Meanwhile, Henry is struggling with his mental health and trying to reunite with her after being separated.
Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie’s secret love faced many challenges, but they found happiness together – until the start of the 1715 Jacobite Rising. The uprising plunged their clans into war, forcing them to choose between love and loyalty. While they once prioritized their relationship over family, now Brian must fulfill his duty to fight, and Ellen tries to repair her fractured family ties.
In the second season, the two couples will face new challenges and be pulled apart as the growing rebellion forces everyone to pick a side.
