Great news for fans of Baldur’s Gate 3! Neil Newbon, the actor who earned a BAFTA nomination for his popular portrayal of Astarion in the game, is taking on a significant new role in another video game.
Newbon has experience with games like Detroit: Become Human and Resident Evil Village, and he’s recently worked on titles such as Dead Take and Starfinder: Afterlight. However, his latest project is definitely worth checking out.
Everyone immediately knew it was the British actor when he showed up during last night’s PlayStation State of Play presentation, where they unveiled the first trailer for Until Dawn 2.
Even with an American accent, it was definitely Newbon! See the trailer below and judge for yourself.

Since its release in 2015 (with a recent remake to celebrate its 10-year anniversary), Until Dawn has become a beloved game, and now its dedicated fans are getting the sequel they’ve been waiting for.
Similar to the game Until Dawn, this new story features a diverse group of characters caught up in a scary situation – this time, a slasher-style horror on a secluded island. The character Newbon is a mystery – is he a friend or foe? It’s hard to say, but he certainly has the potential to be a compelling villain.
The trailer suggests Newbon is new to the group, who all seem to already know each other well. He appears to be an unpredictable element, which could create some interesting opportunities for his character.

The sequel to Until Dawn is being created by Firesprite, a studio owned by PlayStation. Surprisingly, Supermassive Games, the team behind the first Until Dawn, isn’t leading the development of this new installment.
