C’mon, c’mon, c’mon, don’t take aim at Luke Bryan. 

A well-known performer in country music and judge on American Idol was struck by something thrown during his closing act of “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)” at the North Dakota State Fair, making him the most recent musician to experience such an incident while performing.

In a TikTok video posted on July 27th, Luke was hit with what seemed like a small plush toy while performing the last lines of his 2011 hit song. Despite being momentarily thrown off by the impact and taking a step back to regain balance, he smoothly carried on singing without skipping a beat.

As the fan who shared the video wrote in the caption, “Carried on like a champ.”

Meanwhile, other fans expressed disappointment that Luke was hit at all. 

One viewer commented underneath the video, ‘This is likely why we don’t receive superior performances at the fair.’ They expressed their frustration, stating, ‘I absolutely despise people. There’s no justification for such behavior.’

It’s not just Luke who has experienced this; even stars like Steve Lacy and Taylor Swift have voiced their concerns about the impact of audience members throwing items during performances.

In response to being struck by a disposable camera during a 2022 performance, the artist known for “Bad Habits” chose to defend his action by continuing to uphold his decision to break it.
