Fans have been eagerly awaiting The Wolf Among Us 2 for a long time, and its release has been pushed back repeatedly. But a recent trailer shown at Summer Game Fest suggests the game might finally be coming out soon.

The Wolf Among Us 2 Has a New Release Window
The trailer shows a series of murders taking place in town and suggests appearances by well-known characters from The Wizard of Oz, including the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Dorothy. Bigby Wolf and his companion, Colin the pig, also return in this installment.
Okay, so Telltale wasn’t just teasing a new game – they actually announced a remastered version of the very first one! We’ve been hearing rumors about this for ages, and it’s finally happening sometime in 2026. Honestly, they didn’t share much detail though. We still don’t know what improvements they’re making or even which consoles and PC it’ll be released on – it’s all a bit mysterious right now.
It’s been a long wait for The Wolf Among Us 2. The first episode of the first season came out in October 2013, and the remaining four episodes were released gradually until the season ended in July 2014. Fans have been eager for the next installment in Bigby’s adventure ever since.
This chapter’s development hasn’t been smooth sailing. The first trailer appeared in December 2019 at The Game Awards, and a more official trailer in February 2022 announced a 2023 release date—which the game ultimately missed. Originally, AdHoc Studio, the creators of the acclaimed game Dispatch, was going to collaborate with Telltale on the project, but they parted ways due to differing creative visions. The game also switched from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5 during production. Adding to the challenges, Telltale itself faced major setbacks, closing down in 2018 before being rebuilt, and later experiencing layoffs. It’s safe to say this game has overcome numerous obstacles during its development.
