Marvel has been increasingly collaborating with the anime world in some unexpected ways. We’ve seen exciting crossovers like the Avengers battling the Titans from Attack on Titan, All Might from My Hero Academia teaming up with Deadpool against Thanos, and Spider-Man starring in his own manga. While not all these pairings are official, many comic book artists also contribute their skills to popular anime series. Recently, a well-known Marvel artist even joined the celebration of a major anniversary for a particularly dark and popular anime franchise.
Gabriele Dell’Otto, a talented artist who has worked on popular Marvel comics like Secret War, X-Force, The Amazing Spider-Man, and The Avengers, is now contributing to the celebration of Berserk‘s 30th anime anniversary. He’s bringing his skills to the world of the Band of the Hawk, focusing on iconic characters Guts, Griffith, and Casca, as well as alternate versions of them. Dell’Otto’s style is a perfect fit for bringing Kentaro Miura’s characters to life. Although there hasn’t been an official Marvel and Berserk crossover, it’s clear that comic artists are thrilled to work within the Berserk universe and explore its powerful characters.
The Future of Berserk

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the next installment of Berserk, and it’s almost here! After a long wait, the manga will resume publication in Young Animal with chapter 384, scheduled for release in Japan on June 12th. With the release date just around the corner, many readers are revisiting the events of the previous chapter to prepare for what’s next for Guts and the Black Swordsman.
I’ve been following Guts and his companions, and they’d finally started to gather some allies who could help them challenge Griffith and his growing empire. The Kushan Empire, a long-time enemy of Griffith’s original Band of the Hawk, decided to join forces with Guts’ group to take the fight to him. However, things aren’t easy for Guts. The Eastern Nation still doesn’t fully trust him because of the Godhand’s mark, and they’ve essentially banished him to a strange, supernatural cave.
There’s currently no confirmed new anime adaptation of Berserk. Despite the recent release of Berserk: Memorial Edition, no animation studio has announced plans to continue Kentaro Miura’s story. While fans have enjoyed several Berserk anime adaptations over the years, many important story arcs remain unadapted. Hopefully, Guts and his dark world will return to animated form in the future.
