It seems the potential release date for Digital Eclipse’s eagerly awaited PS5 and PS4 virtual museum, Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection, might have been unveiled – quite unexpectedly, I must add!
Over the weekend, people noticed that the product’s page on the Xbox app showed a release date of 29th September, but this has since been changed back to a placeholder date of 31st December.
Based on different time zones, some people may see September 29th, while others might see September 30th as today’s date. For now, we can’t definitively say which it is. But if the information is correct, we anticipate an official announcement will be made during EVO this weekend.
On the product details, you’ll find additional insights about this game, such as its inclusion of a complete documentary, autolocks for each game’s hidden content, and rollback network code.
Digital Eclipse has suggested that additional games might be included in the collection later on. However, at this point, they have officially confirmed the following titles: [mention the confirmed titles]
- Mortal Kombat – 1992
- Arcade, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy, Game Gear
- Mortal Kombat II -1993
- Arcade, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy, 32X
- Mortal Kombat 3 – 1995
- Arcade, SNES, Genesis
- Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 – 1995
- Arcade, SNES
- Mortal Kombat 4 – 1997
- Arcade
- Mortal Kombat Advance – 2001
- Game Boy Advance
- Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance – 2002
- Game Boy Advance
- Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition – 2003
- Game Boy Advance
We’re eagerly anticipating the possibility that PS2 era games and spin-offs, such as Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, will eventually be included in this collection. These games hold a lot of sentimental value for us.
As a dedicated admirer, I can confidently say that Digital Eclipse’s commitment to the Atari 50 collection has been nothing short of remarkable. Maybe, just maybe, we could look forward to more games being included as Downloadable Content in the future.
Regardless of the option chosen, we are eagerly anticipating the confirmation of a late September launch date, as we’re simply bursting with impatience to delve back into these captivating games once more.
