$30 Steam Game Free for Less Than 24 Hours

Steam is currently giving away a free PC game that usually costs $30. However, the offer won’t last forever – you only have until June 8th at 2:45 PM to claim it. This is a horror game originally released in 2020, so if you’re interested, be sure to download it quickly! Steam Deck owners can also get the game, but its compatibility with the handheld device is currently unconfirmed.

For the next seven hours, all Steam users can download the horror game Remothered: Tormented Fathers completely free. It’s the first game in a planned trilogy, followed by Remothered: Broken Porcelain (released in 2020) and the soon-to-be-released Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy. Right now, Broken Porcelain is also available for free on GOG, meaning you can get both released games in the series without spending a dime, before the final installment comes out later this year.

2018 Horror Game

If you haven’t played this survival-horror game before, it first came out in 2018 and was the first release from the developers, Stormind Games. It was well-received, leading to the creation of three games in the series. Currently, it has a 75% approval rating based on over 1,740 user reviews.

The game centers around Rosemary Reed, a 35-year-old investigator searching for a missing girl named Celeste. Her investigation leads her to the home of Richard Felton, where she meets Gloria, his nurse. From the start, it’s obvious something is amiss. The game is a traditional third-person survival horror experience, typically taking players around six to seven hours to complete.

Players have praised the game for its gripping story and genuinely frightening atmosphere. One reviewer noted it’s a great choice for survival horror fans, but goes even further, calling it ‘Stalker Horror’ – a style reminiscent of the classic game Clock Tower. Another player highlighted the disturbing plot and memorable, scary experience.

This is the first time this game has been offered for free, likely as a promotion for the recently revealed third installment, showcased at Summer Games Fest. It’s probably a one-time offer. If you’re not interested, Steam is currently giving away four other PC games for free.
