This alternate version appeared to snatch the happy ending that Mr. Poopybutthole had been striving for in Season 7’s premiere, “How Poopy Got His Poop Back.” However, in the post-credits scene for the finale of Rick and Morty Season 8, titled “Hot Rick,” we find Mr. Poopybutthole reappearing to express his reactions to the season’s events, much like he has done in previous seasons. Yet this time, there’s a twist – something feels different.

In simpler terms, it’s become apparent that this version of Mrs. Poopbutthole in the multiverse has realized that the Mr. Poopybutthole she’s with now is not her husband, and he doesn’t even originate from their universe. Meanwhile, Mr. Poopybutthole carries on as usual, responding to the season’s events.
