How Rosie O’Donnell, Trisha Paytas & More Are Celebrating Pride Month

As June and Pride Month kicked off, many celebrities showed their support for the LGBTQ+ community with touching messages and by attending events nationwide.

As someone who’s followed and admired Rosie O’Donnell for years, I was really touched by what she recently shared. She spoke about how much she owes to the LGBTQ+ pioneers who came before her, and how their bravery gave her the strength to come out as a lesbian back in the early 2000s. It’s a beautiful reminder that we all stand on the shoulders of those who paved the way!

I’m so incredibly moved by everyone who came before me, those who were brave enough to be themselves when I wasn’t. They truly gave me the strength and courage to finally be authentic. That’s what I hope to do for younger generations – show them there’s nothing to fear and that people like us are everywhere, in every walk of life. I shared that at the Tony Awards, and it meant so much to me.

Rosie emphasized, “Gay is OK no matter what they say.”

Trisha Paytas marked a personal milestone by celebrating their queer identity with a vibrant photoshoot, showcasing a rainbow-themed outfit.

“It’s that time of year!!!!!!! HAPPY PRIDE,” she wrote on Instagram. “We’re here and we’re queer.”

People who support the LGBTQ+ community also shared messages of encouragement. For example, Jennifer Lopez started the month by wishing her followers a happy Pride Month and suggesting a special way to join in the celebration.

She posted on Instagram on June 1st, encouraging everyone to make the coming year amazing. She playfully suggested taking time off work and blaming it on her – telling people to say she gave them permission! She joked that any boss would surely understand.

The 56-year-old shared a heartfelt wish for everyone to experience love, laughter, joy, and strong connections with the people they choose to be family. They also reassured those who haven’t come out yet that it’s perfectly alright, and that support is available whenever they’re ready.

Pop superstar Mariah Carey also celebrated Pride Month by posting a nostalgic photo on Instagram with a message of support for her fans, affectionately known as “Lambs.”

Lisa Rinna, known from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, recently posted a video of herself dancing to a new, funny song called “GAY” by comedian Meg Stalter. The song includes the catchy lyrics, “I love gay, I love gay / Everything we do is slay.”

Okay, so after watching the video, a commenter named Meg just had to share her enthusiasm! She left a comment saying she’s a big fan of both the LGBTQ+ community and Lisa – a really sweet and supportive message, honestly. It just goes to show the power of positive vibes online!

Of course, June also has some star-studded events lined up throughout the month. 

The Pussycat Dolls performed together again on June 6th at the OUTLOUD Music Festival, which was part of WeHo Pride. Ava Max and Jade Thirlwall from Little Mix also headlined the festival on June 5th and 7th. Other performers included Ashlee Simpson, Blue Man Group, and Melanie C from the Spice Girls.

Jade shared her enthusiasm before her performance, saying she was thrilled to headline a festival for the first time and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.

The singer said in a recent Instagram video that it’s really important to her to support her community and she feels honored to perform in Los Angeles for her fans.

Many celebrities are showing their support for Pride Month by going to events, but some demonstrate their commitment to the LGBTQ+ community all year long.

Last month, Thora Birch, known for her role in Hocus Pocus, publicly shared that she is bisexual. She also spoke about the positive influence the LGBTQ+ community has had on her life.

Speaking at The Abbey’s 35th anniversary celebration in West Hollywood on May 20th, she told Us Weekly that she’s proud to support the community that helped shape her into the person she is, including her identity as a bisexual woman.

The former View cohost paid tribute to the trailblazers who helped her come out as a lesbian.

She shared at the 2026 Tony Awards on June 7th that she deeply admires those who came out before her, saying they inspired her to be true to herself. She hopes to now be that source of strength for others, especially young people, and to show everyone that there’s nothing to fear and that LGBTQ+ people are everywhere.

Rosie emphasized, “Gay is OK no matter what they say.”

Wouldn’t it have been great to see Kimberly Wyatt, Nicole Scherzinger, and Ashley Roberts celebrating their Pussycat Dolls roots at the OUTLOUD music festival in West Hollywood?

Ashlee Simpson shared the love at WeHo Pride in Los Angeles when she was joined onstage by her husband, *NSYNC member Justin Timberlake.

The actor known for The Rocky Horror Picture Show celebrated the start of Pride Month at a fundraiser hosted by The Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative at the historic LGBTQ+ landmark in New York City.

The pop star helped fans spice up their life during the OUTLOUD concert at West Hollywood Pride.

The Real Housewives star was feelin’ Jovani as she performed her iconic hits at WeHo Pride.
