I bloody love the Onimusha: Way of the Sword demo — as expressed in my Hands On feature — but it is, arguably, a bit too easy.
Since the game’s demo came out last week, a lot of people have expressed this concern. Fortunately, Capcom has heard the feedback and is already addressing it.
In a short social media video, producer Akihito Kadowaki promised fans that the complete game, launching on September 25th, will be more challenging.
“The demo is just a slice of the early part of the story,” he clarifies.
So, I heard that in the demo, you can actually use some moves with Musashi that you don’t normally get until later in the game. Pretty cool to experiment with stuff before you officially unlock it!
They’re on show here to give players a greater insight into how technical the combat system can be.
But what about the general lack of aggression from standard enemies? Well, Kadowaki says that the demo was basically designed to welcome players of all skill levels, and in the finished game, your average foe will be more… lively.
He promised that the bosses and regular enemies would be more challenging in the last game.
The demo has two difficulty levels to choose from: easy and normal.
So with that in mind, I wouldn’t worry too much about Capcom overcompensating. Even if you’re not one of these people who found the demo too easy, there should still be a less demanding difficulty option to suit your needs in the full release.
