For comparison, The Mandalorian and Grogu cost around $165 million to produce, and Masters of the Universe cost between $170 and $200 million. Disclosure Day doesn’t need to be a massive box office hit to succeed, but a $35 million opening weekend would be considered weak. According to The Wrap, a domestic opening of around $50 million would put the film in a solid position.

Early reactions to Disclosure Day are promising. People who have seen it are saying great things, and it initially received very high ratings on Rotten Tomatoes (though the score has come down slightly). While it might not reach the iconic status of films like Jurassic Park or Close Encounters of the Third Kind, most viewers agree that Disclosure Day is one of Steven Spielberg’s best films in recent years. It’s a moving and intelligent story with the kind of impressive visual effects that Spielberg is known for.
