Pearl Abyss has confirmed Crimson Desert sales have reached six million since the ambitious open worlder’s release in March 2026.
The game quickly became a hit, selling two million copies on its first day and five million within the first month. After almost three months, sales have reached six million. The developer has been actively improving the game with weekly updates, adding new features and content.
“We are sincerely grateful to players around the world for helping Crimson Desert achieve meaningful success in the global market despite being a new IP,” said CEO Jin-young Heo in a press release. “To provide more enjoyable and better experiences, Pearl Abyss will continue moving forward and taking on new challenges.”
Speaking of which, the studio recently confirmed an expansion is in the works alongside more free content updates that’ll improve the story, combat, gameplay, and implement a cross-save feature. As for the DLC drop, it’s being designed as a “meaningful addition” to the experience.
