The official synopsis for Heart of the Beast says: “After a harrowing plane crash, Special Forces officer James Belmont (Pitt) and his combat dog, Odin, find themselves stranded deep in the Alaskan wilderness. Together, they are forced into a brutal fight for survival against the elements.
Heart of the Beast, a thrilling new adventure from director David Ayer, tells the story of a man and his loyal companion as they fight for survival in their most challenging situation yet.
In a recent interview with GQ, director David Ayer called the movie a “love story” between the characters James and Odin. This project reunites Ayer with Brad Pitt, as they previously collaborated on the 2014 war film Fury.
Heart of the Beast will be released in cinemas on 25 September, and will be the first film to star Pitt since last year’s F1, which was nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards.

Let me tell you a bit about James Hibbs, one of the folks covering TV for TopMob. He’s a drama writer who keeps up with everything – shows on streaming services and traditional TV. Before becoming a writer, he actually worked in public relations, first for a business-to-business agency and then for the international production company, Fremantle. He’s got a solid background too, with a BA in English and Theatre Studies, plus a journalism diploma – an NCTJ Level 5, if you’re keeping score at home. He clearly knows his stuff!
