Peaky Blinders sequel series confirms first returning cast members and adds Game of Thrones favourite to cast

As a huge Peaky Blinders fan, I was already excited about the sequel with Jamie Bell, Charlie Heaton, Jessica Brown Findlay, Lashana Lynch, and Lucy Karczewski on board. But the news just keeps getting better! They’ve announced even more cast members, and – fantastic news – a couple of familiar faces are coming back too!

Ned Dennehy and Packy Lee are returning as their popular characters, Charlie Strong and Johnny Dogs. Both actors were in every season of the original Peaky Blinders series, and also appeared in the recent movie, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.

It was previously announced that Bell would be playing the son of Cillian Murphy’s Tommy Shelby, Duke, who was last seen in the filmed played by Barry Keoghan.

The cast of Peaky Blinders is growing! Samuel Bottomley, Arturo Muselli, Eugene Collins, and Lucie Shorthouse will be joining the show as new characters: Eliot, Angelo, Frank, and Kezia Lee, respectively.

Heaton was previously confirmed to play Charles, Tommy’s oldest son. The character is shown trying to live a normal life and has completely cut off all connections to the Peaky Blinders and the wild Shelby family lifestyle.

The synopsis for the series says: “In this new era of Peaky Blinders, set a decade after World War Two, the race to rebuild Birmingham becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions. This is a city of unprecedented opportunity and jeopardy.”

Conleth Hill, known for his role in Game of Thrones, will play Clemmy Keeler in the upcoming Birmingham rebuilding story. Keeler is the powerful head of a criminal family that are rivals to the famous Peaky Blinders.

Additionally, Cal O’Driscoll will play Clemmy’s son, Aidan Keeler, and Daniel Monks will play Detective Inspector Bell.

Filming is underway for the next installment of Peaky Blinders in Birmingham, primarily at Digbeth Loc. Studios. Steven Knight, who created the original series, has also written the sequel.

Mike Barker (The Testaments) and Anna Zackrisson (Detective Hole) will act as directors on the new series, which has already been confirmed to run for at least two seasons.

Peaky Blinders is set to return in 2027.
