Resident Evil Veronica Has Already Crossed 1 Million Wishlists

Wow, I still remember when Resident Evil Requiem was announced at Summer Game Fest last year – it blew up and hit over a million wishlists in just three weeks! But Resident Evil Veronica is absolutely crushing it. It hit that same million wishlist mark in less than a week after they showed it off. That’s insane!

Just like with Requiem, this new game is launching without any pre-orders or gameplay shown – it’s wild! The reveal trailer was mostly from a first-person perspective, and honestly, it felt like it was all about bringing Claire Redfield back into the action. And did anyone else catch a glimpse of Hunk? It looked like him, which is super exciting if true!

Thankfully, Capcom has spilt further details to media outlets that attended Summer Game Fest. First off, it’s still in third-person, but the game feel will be more akin to Resident Evil 2 Remake, so more over-the-shoulder than fixed angles. Claire is also described as being changed by the Raccoon City Destruction Incident, though you shouldn’t expect her to be a superhero or anything.

Although the word “Code” is no longer in the title, the producer, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, suggests looking at the naming conventions of other Resident Evil games like Village and Requiem. The developers now see Veronica as a core installment in the series—more important than when it was first released—and the new name reflects this change in perspective.

There’s still plenty of time to learn more about Resident Evil Veronica, which launches in 2027 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Between showcasing Chris Redfield, Albert Wesker and the potential return of Steve Burnside, fans are in for a busy couple of months.

Get ready for some terrifying fun! Thanks to the over 1 million of you who have wishlisted #ResidentEvilVeronica! 🌿 You can wishlist on Steam here: https://bit.ly/REVwishlistSteam and on PS5 here: https://bit.ly/REVwishlistPS5. We’ll be adding wishlists for other platforms soon!
