5 Details From Marvel’s Wolverine You Missed

Fans are eagerly awaiting Marvel’s Wolverine, the next game from the team behind the popular Marvel’s Spider-Man series. A new trailer released last week has generated a lot of excitement and close examination, as players are dissecting every detail before the game launches in September. It’s one of the most anticipated titles for the rest of 2026.

Here are five subtle details you might have overlooked in the newest Marvel’s Wolverine trailer. They’re presented in the order they appear in the video, so the numbers aren’t important.

5) A Billboard Points To A Spider-Man Connection/Cameo

The trailer begins with a fast-paced series of clips. One scene features Wolverine leaping from a balcony to catch a zipline, and many viewers have identified the location as Madripoor. This fictional island in Southeast Asia is a frequent destination for Logan, so its appearance isn’t unexpected.

You might not have noticed, but there’s a billboard in the upper right corner of the image that says “Roxxon Power.” This company also appears in Insomniac’s Spider-Man games. Since the developers have confirmed both games share the same universe, it’s not too shocking to see this connection.

It’s a nice surprise to see this little connection included. It makes you wonder if this could lead to a bigger collaboration between the two games. While a full appearance by Spider-Man or Miles Morales seems unlikely, we might get to see a character like Prowler or Simone Krieger make a cameo. Alternatively, this could just be a fun Easter egg, and they might save any major crossovers for a future event.

4) The Quick Skullbuster Reveal

The gameplay preview shows Wolverine battling multiple Reavers while attempting to save Leech, a mutant being held captive in a truck along with others. One of the Reavers is recognizable by their red face paint, strongly suggesting it’s the character Skullbuster.

Interestingly, Skullbuster typically wears white face paint in the comics. But given that he’s the leader of the Reavers, that distinctive pattern makes it clear who he is. Although he’s defeated fairly quickly in the trailer, it’s possible he’ll survive and reappear to challenge Wolverine later in the game.

3) Debra Wilson’s Character Seemingly Revealed

Debra Wilson has appeared in many popular games recently, so fans likely noticed her brief appearance in the new Wolverine trailer. She’s wearing an eyepatch, which strongly suggests the character she’ll be playing.

Callisto, the Morlock leader, is one of the few women seen with an eyepatch. With the introduction of Leech, it’s becoming increasingly likely that the Morlocks will play a role in the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine game. Leech and Callisto aren’t the only clues suggesting the Morlocks’ involvement, though.

2) More Morlock Hints

Okay, so besides Debra Wilson in that quick shot, there are a couple of other mutants hanging around. I’m racking my brain trying to figure out who the woman in the cheetah print leggings is – she’s a mystery! But I think I recognize the guy with the huge orange glasses. It definitely looks like Toad, even though he wasn’t ever part of the Morlocks. Though, honestly, a lot of fans are saying it might actually be Speedball, and that makes a bit more sense to me when I look at it again.

We then see the mutants again, this time inside the truck with Leech and Callisto. The man in the purple suit is likely Caliban, a mutant with the ability to detect other mutants. As one of the original Morlocks, it makes sense he’s involved. We also spot a mutant with antlers, who appears to be Nature Girl. Her powers connected to the natural world would be incredibly useful in the Canadian wilderness, making her a strong asset.

1) The Weapon X Cover Recreation

This moment is mainly a nod to longtime Wolverine comic book readers. Near the end of the trailer, there’s a shot that strongly resembles a cover from the Weapon X comic series. It shows Logan lifting one Reaver with one hand and slashing another with his claws.

Dedicated fans will immediately notice a connection to the cover of Weapon X 3rd Edition. While Barry Windsor-Smith’s original cover showed Wolverine surrounded by even more enemies, this new scene is a clear nod to it. This makes sense, as Marvel’s Wolverine focuses on Logan’s past. When exploring his origins, it’s fitting to reference one of the most celebrated portrayals of that story.
