The Wolf Among Us 2 Is Making a Big Change From Every Previous Telltale Game

Telltale is changing how it releases The Wolf Among Us 2 compared to the first game. The original The Wolf Among Us was released over almost a year, starting in October 2013 and finishing with its final episode in July 2014. While the sequel will also be released in episodes, Telltale promises players won’t have to wait as long to play the complete story.

Telltale Games has announced that The Wolf Among Us 2 will be released as a complete game, rather than in separate episodes like its predecessor. While the game is still designed with an episodic structure internally, all parts will be available to play at once, so players won’t have to wait between installments.

It’s not surprising that Telltale is releasing all episodes of The Wolf Among Us 2 at the same time. Their previous strategy of releasing episodes one by one ultimately harmed the company and played a role in its original closure. However, this is a new approach for Telltale – even their recent game, The Expanse: A Telltale Series, was released over several months in 2023.

Telltale Games also shared how long players can expect to play The Wolf Among Us 2 – estimating between 8 and 12 hours for a full playthrough. This is similar in length to the original game, which typically took around 10 hours to finish. However, Telltale promises that The Wolf Among Us 2 will be much more expansive and different from the first game despite the comparable playtime.

While we don’t have an exact release date yet, Telltale has announced that The Wolf Among Us 2 is planned for release in 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Before the sequel arrives, a remastered version of the original The Wolf Among Us will be available later this year on all those same platforms.
