All the Celebrity Sightings at the 2026 World Cup

There are some major world stars enjoying the World Cup 2026.

Oh my gosh, it finally started! The tournament – it happens every four years, you know – began in Mexico City on June 11th, and Mexico totally crushed South Africa, 2-0! It’s amazing being able to watch it here since Mexico, the US, and Canada are all hosting together this year. And seriously, SO many celebrities are showing up to cheer on their teams, it’s incredible! I’m glued to the screen, of course!

Ryan Reynolds was spotted in Toronto on June 12th, supporting Canada in their 1-1 tie with Bosnia. At the same time, several celebrities—including Paris Hilton, Tobey Maguire, Rob Lowe, and Jaafar Jackson—were at Los Angeles Stadium to root for Team USA as they played Paraguay.

The first World Cup soccer game on U.S. soil in 32 years saw a strong competitive atmosphere, with athletes like New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart and former U.S. Women’s National Team stars Christen Press and Tobin Heath participating.

Stars weren’t simply watching the games – many celebrated their local teams by performing at the opening ceremonies in Mexico City, Toronto, and Los Angeles on June 12th.

On June 12th in Toronto, singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette performed alongside fellow Canadian artists Jessie Reyez, Michael Bublé, and Alessia Cara. This appearance came just a day after Morissette was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Shakira and Burna Boy were the main performers at the Mexico City event on June 11th, joined by J Balvin, Tyla, Alejandro Fernandez, and Danny Ocean.

The U.S. opening ceremony culminated with a performance by Katy Perry at Los Angeles Stadium. Earlier in the show, Future, Tyla, Anitta, and LISA all performed. Before taking the stage, Perry promised an unforgettable performance, excitedly sharing in May that she was eager to perform.

Other celebrities are getting involved as well. Earlier this month, Kim Kardashian and her son, Saint West—who loves soccer—starred in a Nike ad for the World Cup. The ad promoted the summer of 2026, when the tournament will take place, as the “summer of dreams.” Kanye West, Saint’s father, also appeared in the ad.

The commercial also featured appearances by stars like Channing Tatum, Travis Scott, LeBron James, Jason Sudeikis, and Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of the Portuguese national team.

Kim Kardashian isn’t typically seen as an athlete, but she’s embraced her son’s passion for sports. She even playfully referred to herself as “SCCR-MOM” in an Instagram post about a recent photoshoot, showing her support.

Honestly, I’m just waiting for more celebrities to show up and prove they’re real fans! It’s amazing to see people like Ryan Reynolds and, oh my gosh, Reese Witherspoon actually investing in soccer teams – it’s about time they let us know they support the beautiful game publicly, and I’m hoping to see them at the matches!

Reynolds confessed that buying Wrexham with Robert McElhenney from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia back in 2020 turned him into a huge fan of the team.

Ryan Reynolds told the New York Times in February that his deep connection to Wrexham AFC is clear whenever the team loses – he’s truly heartbroken. He explained he’s never felt so passionately about a team’s wins and losses before.
