Ever since its release, Palworld has naturally been compared to Pokémon, and many have even called it “Pokémon with guns” – a nickname the developers at Pocket Pair don’t particularly like. These similarities actually led to a lawsuit from Nintendo! Despite this, Pocket Pair is moving forward with plans to establish Palworld as a major creature-collecting series. Following in Pokémon‘s footsteps, they’re also releasing a trading card game on July 30th, and pre-orders have already shown strong support from fans.
The Pokémon Trading Card Game is still incredibly popular and frequently sells out. The high demand for professionally graded cards even caused PSA to temporarily stop offering its valuation services. With Pokémon cards hard to find, the new Palworld Trading Card Game could quickly gain attention. While the first products aren’t in stores yet, Pocket Pair is already happy with the number of pre-orders. They recently announced a second production run of booster packs, thanking fans for their enthusiastic support of the initial release. Despite the current legal issues with Nintendo, Palworld continues to have a dedicated and growing fanbase.
Palworld: Official Card Game Unveils Next Wave of Products Before Dawn of Palpagos Even Hits Shelves
The first expansion pack for the official Palworld Trading Card Game is launching on July 30th. Called Dawn of Palpagos, its logo playfully acknowledges comparisons to Pokemon, but the card artwork itself looks great! The initial booster set features over 50 Pals, all beautifully hand-drawn.
The new trading card game, Dawn of Palpagos, is launching with starter sets called booster packs and trial decks. Trial decks will be available at some stores before the official release on July 30th, letting players get an early start. There are two trial deck options: Red & Blue and Green & Purple – a nod to popular creature collecting games. Each deck includes a 50-card main deck and 10 soul cards, along with a booster pack, rulebook, playmat, and life counter. Basically, it’s everything you need to jump into the game!

Even before the first set, Dawn of Palpagos, is officially released, Pocket Pair has announced the next expansion for the Palworld OCG. Called Legends Awaken, it will be available in stores on October 30th, and pre-orders are open now at local card shops. Details are still limited, but strong pre-order numbers suggest the initial Palworld OCG release was a success, paving the way for this second expansion.
The official Palworld OCG account is preparing to show off cards from the upcoming Dawn of Palpagos – Red and Blue and Green and Purple sets. The first full look at the cards will be revealed on June 14th at 9 PM Eastern Time. We’ve already seen some of the card art, but this will be the first time we see complete card designs, including the Pal cards themselves. I’m especially excited to see the Depresso card!
