The third season of “One-Punch Man” is set to air on television screens this October, continuing the storyline involving Saitama and the Hero Association as they confront the Monster Association’s creatures. Although Saitama remains the main character, a significant portion of the upcoming anime episodes will delve into Garou, the villain who made a striking appearance in season two and is infamous for targeting heroes. In anticipation of Garou’s return, the production studio J.C. Staff has unveiled a sneak peek at the new design that Garou will sport in season three.
In our previous encounter, Garou, once a pupil of the mighty Bang, was experiencing setbacks in reaching his objectives. Although the villain had managed to defeat several heroes, inflicting even a minor wound on Saitama was almost unattainable. In the finale of the second season of One-Punch Man, it was revealed that Garou joined forces with the Monster Association, transforming into a more menacing figure due to the injuries he sustained while battling against less powerful heroes. A sneak peek at the upcoming third season shows Garou engaging in combat with his new companions, indicating his intentions to become even more formidable as he continues to clash with the good forces of the anime world. You can catch a glimpse of the transformed Garou in the trailer below.
Garou’s Season 3 Plans
Leading up to the return of One-Punch Man, it’s no surprise that Garou will take center stage in the anime. Unlike Saitama, who battles opponents with ease due to his “for fun” approach and unbeatable strength, Garou is a far weaker antagonist who has undergone intense training to reach his goals. The second season didn’t just introduce Garou, but showed him struggling in numerous battles. As of now, the exact release date for the third season remains unknown, but if it adheres to its projected October window, we are merely weeks away from its grand return.
Regarding the original manga and webcomic, which serve as the foundation for the anime series, they have progressed significantly beyond Garou and the Monster Association. To avoid revealing too many spoilers, I’ll just say that Saitama has encountered numerous tests of his power, and things are getting even more intense thanks to creator ONE. Fingers crossed that if a fourth season is announced, we won’t have to wait as long as we did between seasons two and three.
