At its major unveiling event, Electronic Arts (EA) announced that Battlefield 6 will be available on PlayStation 5 starting 10th October 2025. To get a glimpse of the action-packed multiplayer experience, check out the video above.
As a gamer, I’m super excited to share that an open beta for our upcoming FPS game is just around the corner! The two main weekends you can jump in and play are the 9th-10th of August and 14th-17th August. But Can’t wait to see you all there!
In the presentation, we tackled a wide range of topics and aspects, which I’ve conveniently organized for you in the videos provided. Topics such as classes, maps, modes, and additional features are all thoroughly discussed.

The legendary tiered system is back, stronger than before, featuring Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer roles that give players the flexibility to shape their role in the battlefield. These roles have been upgraded to provide more power for players to drive their team to victory, with each one boasting unique tools, signature weapons, and specialized training. Additionally, destruction is back, but improved to offer an unprecedented level of customization, allowing players to reshape the battlefield, create new passageways, flank opponents, and control the fight.
Upon its release, you’ll find nine multiplayer levels, one of them being a revamped version of Operation Firestorm from Battlefield 3. These nine levels can be played in various gameplay modes.
- Conquest
- Breakthrough
- Rush
- Team Deathmatch
- Squad Deathmatch
- Domination
- King of the Hill
- Escalation (new game mode)

In his own words, Byron Beede, our senior vice president and head of Battlefield, stated: “When we embarked on crafting the future of Battlefield, it was crucial that we got the core elements right – those aspects that players have cherished about this series for over two decades.
Once again, we find ourselves in our battle-filled playground! Four elite teams – Criterion, DICE, Motive, and Ripple Effect – are collaborating as one unit called Battlefield Studios. They’ve poured their passion and effort into the upcoming Battlefield game, and we’re excited to reveal a sneak peek of it today. We can hardly wait for you to join in next weekend during the Open Beta testing!
