A hidden detail suggests Princess Daisy might appear in the Mario and Luigi movies. She’s currently a major character missing from the film series, particularly with Yoshi, Bowser Jr., and Rosalina confirmed to be in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

As a huge Mario fan, I’m still holding out hope for some of the often-overlooked characters! Wario, Waluigi, Princess Daisy, Toadette, and the Koopalings haven’t shown up yet, but honestly, anything could happen in The Super Mario Movie. They could easily make a cameo or be added to the story as a surprise. Princess Daisy seems less likely at this point – there’s no real hint she’ll be in it – but there’s definitely a possibility they’re still considering her.

Princess Daisy’s Emblem Can Be Spotted In The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

In a recent TV ad for the new movie, viewers can briefly see Princess Daisy’s flower symbol – a yellow and teal design linked to her and her kingdom for many years – on a sign in the background as Yoshi swallows a Chomp Chomp.

We actually saw the Princess Daisy symbol before, on a poster for The Super Mario Bros. Movie. However, this is the first time it’s appeared in the movie itself. It’s one of several nods to classic Super Mario characters, and it also suggests that Daisy and her kingdom, Sarasaland, exist within this world.

Considering how vast the shared universe is – encompassing worlds from games like Super Mario Galaxy and the Donkey Kong series – it wouldn’t be shocking to find Sarasaland included as well. The more pressing question is whether Princess Daisy will actually make an appearance, and when that might happen.

When (& How) Princess Daisy Could Finally Appear

Given that The Super Mario Galaxy Movie already has a lot of well-known characters, and with the release date approaching without any news about Princess Daisy, it’s doubtful she’ll have a major role. However, a quick appearance, maybe after the credits, still seems possible.

Now that The Super Mario Bros. Movie has borrowed from many different Mario games and introduced some new characters, a third movie will likely do the same. If that happens, Princess Daisy is a strong contender for a significant part, potentially alongside Wario and even Waluigi.

The movies have explored a lot of Mario history, but they haven’t spent much time with Super Mario Land. This game featured Mario and Luigi facing off against an alien named Tatanga, who took over the kingdom of Sarasaland. Mario and Luigi had to save Princess Daisy and stop Tatanga.

A follow-up to The Super Mario Movie might delve into the events of Super Mario Land to explain how Princess Daisy joins the adventure. However, it’s more probable that the sequel will draw inspiration from Super Mario Land and blend it with elements from other Mario games, similar to how it adapted Super Mario Galaxy for the first film.

The upcoming 2026 Super Mario movie isn’t just based on Super Mario Galaxy. It’s combining elements from several different Mario games, including Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, Super Mario Odyssey, and potentially Super Mario Bros. 2. Instead of making a separate Yoshi’s Island movie, the film will feature a story where Yoshi protects Baby Mario and Baby Luigi.

A future Super Mario movie could introduce Princess Daisy by having her visit the Mushroom Kingdom or briefly appear in Sarasaland as Mario and Luigi travel. If this happens, she could then team up with them to defeat the next villain, following the events of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
