Cartoon Network has a long tradition of showing both classic cartoons and creating its own original series. While Warner Bros. often develops new content, it doesn’t always mean original shows continue to air. Fortunately, Cartoon Network frequently revisits its popular, well-loved originals. A great example of this is Adult Swim’s Checkered Past, and now another fan favorite is coming back to the channel.
Get ready for the return of We Bare Bears to Cartoon Network on February 28th! You’ll be able to catch the three bears every Saturday at 10 AM Eastern, Sunday at 1:30 PM Eastern, and on weekdays at both 6 AM and 4 PM Eastern. This comeback might be connected to the upcoming Pixar movie Hoppers, directed by the same person who directed We Bare Bears. Though Hoppers isn’t a continuation of the series, it does feature a bear and involves humans transferring their minds into robotic animals, and is set to release later this month.
The Legacy of We Bare Bears

I absolutely loved getting into We Bare Bears when it first came out on Cartoon Network in 2015! It quickly became a huge hit, running for four seasons and racking up around 140 episodes. Grizzly, Panda, and Ice Bear were just so endearing, they even got their own movie and a prequel series called We Baby Bears! While We Baby Bears had a great run, a lot of us fans are now wondering what the future holds for the whole crew, especially with the creator, Chong, moving on to new things. It makes you wonder if we’ve seen the last of these adorable bears!
Cartoon Network often brings back popular shows, and it has a history of doing so. While some classics like Dexter’s Laboratory and Ed, Edd n Eddy haven’t returned (though there was talk of bringing the latter back for Adult Swim), others like Adventure Time and Regular Show have continued with new series and spin-offs. Last year, Adventure Time returned with a second season of Fionna & Cake, and we can expect to see Mordecai and Rigby again this year with the new Regular Show spin-off. Even The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball has found success with its latest series, though it initially moved from Cartoon Network to Hulu.
While the return of We Bare Bears doesn’t guarantee new episodes, it shows Cartoon Network still values the show. Like many TV series and streaming programs, a revival by Warner Bros. is possible if ratings are promising, but it’s still uncertain.
