Marvel Comics’ All-New Venom is staring down a supercharged version of one of their worst enemies.
Okay, so Madame Masque just messed with people I care about, and that’s not okay. Me and Venom – yeah, the Venom, in issue #253 – we’re going after her. Tracking down Madame Masque and her A.I.M. crew isn’t the hardest part, honestly. But getting her out of this super-powered armor she’s rocking? That’s gonna be a real challenge, and I have a feeling it’s not going to be easy.

In a new Marvel Comics story, Madame Masque is determined to eliminate Venom, and she’s discovered the identity of the person hidden beneath the symbiote’s surface. It seems a rivalry is brewing!
The character now known as Madame Masque first appeared in 1967 as the mysterious crime boss ‘Big M’ in Tales of Suspense #97, created by Stan Lee and Gene Colan. Before becoming Madame Masque, she was Whitney Frost, the privileged daughter of a rich man. She later discovered a surprising family secret: her true father was Count Nefaria.
Inspired by a family connection to the Maggia, Whitney quickly decided to become a supervillain. Over the years, she’s used many different villain names, but she’s best known as Madame Masque.
Madame Masque has become increasingly powerful lately, dramatically shifting the balance of power among New York City’s criminals. She not only rebuilt her own organization but also initiated the series of events that would…
Although Marvel’s Gang War didn’t go exactly as planned for Madame Masque, she’s still determined to control her part of the Marvel Universe. This became especially true when it was unclear who was currently Venom’s host, and that person turned out to be a major enemy of Mary Jane.
Venom’s facing even bigger threats than Madame Masque, and they’re coming soon. An upcoming storyline by writers Joe Kelly, Al Ewing, and Charles Soule, with art by Jesús Saiz, will bring together plot threads from Amazing Spider-Man, Venom, and Eddie Brock: Carnage. This storyline will also introduce Torment, Marvel’s newest superpowered killer.
Venom #253 is on sale now from Marvel Comics.
