Cartoon Network has produced many beloved original shows, but some haven’t fared well after their initial run. While series like Infinity Train moved to HBO Max after airing on cable, many were later removed from the streaming platform, often for financial reasons. One show, which began on TBS before moving to Cartoon Network, concluded in 2021. Now, five years after its final episode, the show’s creator is working on a final story for the animated comedy.
The animated series Final Space originally aired on TBS from 2018 to 2021, quickly gaining a dedicated fanbase with its clever writing, unique animation, and funny moments. Now, creator Olan Rogers has announced Final Space Ends, revealing a trailer for the story’s conclusion. However, instead of a fourth animated season, the finale will be released as a graphic novel detailing Gary Goodspeed’s final adventure. While this likely means the show won’t return for more episodes, it will finally give fans the ending they’ve been waiting for.

Final Space: One Last Time
Along with the announcement of pre-orders for the graphic novels, creator Rogers shared an update for fans about finishing the story for the animated show Final Space. After two years of effort, he’s secured the rights to complete the series. He’s taking on the entire project independently, without a publisher, Kickstarter, or other traditional sales channels. He’s starting the pre-order now to begin production, and it will remain open until the novel is ready to ship, likely in late 2025. Once you place an order, that’s it – all copies will be based on current pre-order numbers.
The official website revealed the story of the upcoming graphic novel: when Gary returns later this year, he and his crew will embark on a dangerous, last-ditch effort to save the universe from Invictus. This final chapter of the popular sci-fi series, Final Space, promises a thrilling story filled with family, war, love, and incredible action.
If you haven’t seen Final Space yet, it’s not currently streaming on popular services like HBO Max, Netflix, or Hulu. However, you can still buy the series online, so you can watch Gary’s story before the final episode arrives.
