Okay, so first we found out who’s going to play Kratos in the new God of War show, which was awesome! And now, we’ve got another bit of casting news – I’m so excited to hear who they’ve chosen this time!
Teresa Palmer, known for her role in Discovery of Witches, has been confirmed to play Phoebe/Sif, Thor’s wife, in the upcoming film.
Prime Video is creating a live-action series based on the video game, set in the world of Norse mythology. The show has already been renewed for two seasons. After starting development in 2022, the series is now moving forward with pre-production in Vancouver and the start of casting, meaning we can expect more casting news soon.
Rose Byrne, an Australian actress, has appeared in several popular movies, including “The Grudge 2,” “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” and “The Fall Guy.” She’s also starred in TV series like “Discovery of Witches,” “Mix Tape,” and “The Family Next Door.”

She’ll be working alongside Ryan Hurst, who is portraying Kratos in the upcoming series. Hurst is also known for playing Thor in God of War: Ragnarök.
Kratos is the main character of the series. Born in Sparta and possessing the strength of a god, he was a renowned military leader. However, he made a terrible bargain with the god of war, Ares, trading his soul for victory in battle.
Throughout ten incredibly popular games, Kratos defeated everyone who stood in his way – humans, monsters, and even gods. He’s become a famous character, recognized for his quiet strength, incredible fighting ability, and heartbreaking story.
The upcoming God of War live-action series will continue the story from the most recent games, focusing on Kratos and his ten-year-old son, Atreus. Their father-son relationship was a key part of the games, and it will be central to the new show as well.
One big question everyone has is who will play Atreus, Kratos’s son, in the upcoming show. The series will focus on Kratos and Atreus as they travel to scatter the ashes of their beloved wife and mother, Faye.
As Kratos and Atreus journey together, Kratos attempts to guide his son in becoming a worthy god, while Atreus tries to show his father the value of humanity.
The upcoming series is created by Ronald D. Moore, the writer and producer behind popular shows like Outlander, Star Trek, and Battlestar Galactica. Frederick E.O. Toye (known for his work on Shōgun and The Boys) will direct the first two episodes.
