A Forgotten G1 Transformers Villain Rolls Into New Model Kit Lineup

I’m really excited about what Blokees is doing! They’ve become a major player in making awesome toys for franchises like Transformers, and they’re usually known for their kits of the robots themselves. But now, they’re switching things up and focusing on the characters’ alternate forms – like their vehicles or animal modes – which is a totally fresh direction and I can’t wait to see what they come up with!

I’m so excited about the new Blokees Wheels Transformers C02 Wreck & Rule series! It’s all about Autobots and Decepticons as vehicles, which is a really cool twist. They’re pulling characters from all over the Transformers universe – some are super well-known, others are deep cuts for serious fans. And get this – they even included one of the most bizarre villains from the original Generation 1! Now, these figures don’t actually transform, but two of the sets can combine into this massive, imposing form that completely dominates the battlefield – it’s awesome!

Overlord Rolls Out in New Blokees Wheels Transformers Reveal

The Blokees Wheels Transformers C02 Wreck & Rule series features buildable kits that transform into the vehicle forms of various Transformers characters – both Autobots and Decepticons. These designs are heavily inspired by the look of the characters in the IDW Publishing Transformers comic books, giving the vehicles a distinct, futuristic Cybertronian style. Here’s a list of the characters included:

  • Springer
  • Roadbuster
  • Ironfist
  • Huffer
  • Runamuck
  • Scoop
  • Shattered Glass Sideswipe
  • Pipes
  • Cosmos
  • Breakdown
  • Overlord

Many of these characters first appeared in the original Transformers series (Generation 1). Springer was a standout Autobot from that time. Also featured were Huffer, a Cybertronian truck who was an Autobot, along with a less common version of him called Pipes, and Cosmos, both of whom were originally small “Mini-Bots.”

Runamuck, Scoop, Ironfist, Breakdown, and Roadbuster aren’t as well-known as some other Transformers. Interestingly, Roadbuster’s original toy design actually came from a different Japanese animated series called Dorvack. Despite this, a model kit of Roadbuster accurately captures his classic Cybertronian dune buggy appearance. Similarly, a Shattered Glass version of Sideswipe looks like his original Lamborghini form but features a darker color scheme, reflecting his villainous identity in an alternate universe.

I’ve been looking at the new additions, and Overlord really stands out. He’s got both a tank and a jet form, and while his design feels more inspired by the IDW comics, I remember him first appearing in the Transformers: Super-God Masterforce anime. That’s where it was revealed he was actually the combined form of two Decepticons, Mega and Giga – their jet and tank modes merging into one powerful robot.

The Blokees Wheels toys can combine to form a unique jet-tank vehicle, and there are actually two different ways to configure it, making them even more appealing. We don’t know the exact price or when they’ll be available, but the second set of Blokees Wheels is anticipated to be released later this year. While they don’t have a robot mode like some versions, the combination feature adds extra playability.
