A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms S2 Plot Details With Blackfyre Rebellions Revealed

As excitement grows for Season 2 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, creator Ira Parker has explained how the show will continue the stories of important characters first seen in Season 1.

Ira Parker confirms A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2 won’t see two people

Ira Parker recently told Variety that Season 2 of the show will stick closely to the perspective of Dunk, meaning viewers won’t see storylines following other major characters independently. He explained that even smaller characters won’t get their own behind-the-scenes focus. When asked if characters might reappear later, Parker hinted that it’s possible, adding that anything can happen in Westeros.

The second season will continue to follow the order of the novellas by George R.R. Martin. According to Parker, the show is largely based on the books, with Season 1 covering ‘The Hedge Knight’ and Season 2 adapting ‘The Sworn Sword.’ If renewed for a third season, they plan to cover ‘The Mystery Knight.’ Parker also revealed that the story will take characters to Dorne, but how much of that storyline will be shown remains to be seen in Season 2.

Parker discussed how the Blackfyre Rebellions impact the story of Dunk and Egg, noting they remain a presence throughout much of the narrative. He mentioned the Second Blackfyre Rebellion plays a significant role in one of the books and is alluded to in the first season of the show. Ultimately, he explained the story takes place fifteen years after a large civil war, so lingering feelings of anger and distrust are still common.

I’m really struck by how carefully Parker’s handling George’s work. He made a promise to George early on not to add new stories, and I think that’s brilliant. He’s approaching the TV show as if George had written a full-length novel instead of just a shorter story, and they’re simply expanding on ideas George himself likely would have explored. It feels so respectful and true to the original spirit.
