Get ready for some holiday cheer! Netflix is releasing a new romantic comedy, expanding its collection of Christmas movies.

A Merry Little Ex-Mas centers around Kate (Alicia Silverstone), who is newly divorced and wants to create one last magical Christmas with her family before she sells her childhood home, affectionately nicknamed ‘The Mothership’.

She was hoping for a peaceful Christmas with her family, but her plans are disrupted when her ex-husband, Everett (Oliver Hudson), brings his new girlfriend along, and she intends to celebrate with them.

Alicia Silverstone plays Kate

Kate grew up in the city but moved to the small town of Winterlight after falling in love. She traded her ambition of becoming an architect for a more practical job as a handywoman. Kate is also very passionate about protecting the environment and makes an effort to live a sustainable lifestyle.

Alicia Silverstone started her film career in 1993 with the movie The Crush, but she’s best known for the popular film Clueless. Throughout the 1990s, she also appeared in films like The Babysitter, Excess Baggage, and True Crime. She’s also worked in television, with roles in Miss Match, Suburgatory, and American Woman. More recently, she’s been in Bugonia and Irish Blood.

Oliver Hudson plays Everett

I’ve learned that Everett is Kate’s ex-husband and a doctor. From what I understand, he really threw himself into his work, and that unfortunately created distance between him and Kate, ultimately leading to their divorce.

Oliver Hudson is famous for his work on shows like Rules of Engagement, Nashville, and Scream Queens. He’s also appeared in films including Happy Gilmore 2, Walk of Shame, and the Netflix movie The Christmas Chronicles.

Jameela Jamil plays Tess

Who is Tess? Tess is Everett’s new girlfriend and is the founder of a non-profit organisation.

Jameela Jamil is best known for her role as Tahani Al-Jamil in the TV show The Good Place. More recently, she’s appeared in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, and Poker Face. She’s also provided voice acting for shows like Star Trek: Prodigy, Mira, Royal Detective, and the Netflix film Love at First Sight.

Pierson Fodé plays Chet

Who is Chet? Chet is Kate’s new love interest with multiple jobs in Winterlight.

Pierson Fodé is an actor who recently appeared with Miranda Cosgrove in the Netflix film, The Wrong Paris. While he’s known for many roles, he’s particularly famous for his work on The Bold and the Beautiful, earning him two Emmy nominations. Melissa Joan Hart plays April

Who is April? April is Kate’s best friend and godmother to her children.

Okay, so I was just wondering what else Timothy Innes has been in, besides The Last Kingdom where he’s fantastic as King Edward. Turns out he’s popped up in a few other cool projects! I recognized he was also in Harlots, and he even had a part in The Favourite – a really quirky film. Oh, and Ashes in the Snow too. Not a huge list, but some solid roles there.
