The Dragon Ball Genki Dama Festival was a huge success for fans of the series, revealing some exciting news. For years, fans have wondered if Dragon Ball Super would return after the Tournament of Power arc. The festival confirmed that it will, with the announcement of Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol. While a release date hasn’t been announced yet, one of the voice actors is eager to play the main villain and has a strong background in voicing antagonists.
I’ve been following the upcoming Dragon Ball Super arc, and it’s exciting to think about the new villain, Moro. He’s this incredibly powerful wizard who can absorb energy, and he’s just been released after being imprisoned for centuries! So far, the only voice actor confirmed to return is Masako Nozawa, who’s famously voiced Goku for years. As for the English dub, I heard Neil Kaplan is hoping to get the role of Moro. He’s a really talented voice actor – you might recognize his work as Madara Uchiha in Naruto, Emperor Zarkon in Voltron, or Diabolico in Power Rangers. We’ll probably have to wait a while for official news on who will voice Moro, but Kaplan would be a fantastic choice, in my opinion.
Kaplan mentioned he was intrigued by a fan’s idea on social media – that he could play the role of Moro. Neil then advised the fan to simply send a letter with their suggestion. You can view the conversation for yourself below.

Who is Dragon Ball Super’s Moro?

Moro was introduced in the 43rd chapter of Dragon Ball Super when the Galactic Patrol asked Goku and Vegeta for help with a newly released villain. Moro had originally been imprisoned by the Supreme Kais and first appears as an elderly, goat-like being, but like many Dragon Ball villains, he gains power and evolves. Though not as strong as Goku and Vegeta at first, Moro is dangerous because of his ability to absorb energy.
Similar to some of the androids in Dragon Ball, Moro can steal energy from others—even from living things and the surrounding environment. Unlike those androids, who needed physical contact to absorb energy, Moro can do it just by being nearby. He’s constantly improving his abilities, and has even developed a unique way to fuse with others, making him an incredibly dangerous enemy for the Z-Fighters.
While fans are eager for the Moro Arc to be adapted into animation, the Granolah The Survivor Arc is another significant story from the manga that hasn’t been covered yet. Because the Galactic Patrol arc is the longest one in Dragon Ball Super, it could be a while before the Granolah arc gets its turn, but many believe it will be worth the wait.
