Dr. Seuss, a renowned author cherished by many, is seeing his stories come alive once more through Netflix. For several decades now, the quirky tales and characters created by Seuss have become an integral part of popular culture, evoking a sense of nostalgia from childhood. Titles like “The Cat in the Hat”, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, and “The Lorax” have made the transition from pages to both big and small screens. Following suit with its rendition of “Green Eggs and Ham”, Netflix has recently premiered a new series inspired by one of Seuss’ most recognized books, and this is merely the start.
On September 8th, Netflix introduced their latest preschool show, “Dr. Seuss’s Red Fish, Blue Fish,” as part of their September 2025 schedule. This animated series is derived from Dr. Seuss’ 1960 book, “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish,” one of his most popular tales. The show follows the escapades of a peculiar duo of fish companions as they traverse an underwater world and present opposite ideas. The voice actors for this series are Brian Drummond (Red), Andrea Libman (Blue), and Naomi Tan (narrator). You can now watch all five episodes of the series on Netflix.
Dr. Seuss’s Red Fish, Blue Fish Is One of Several Dr. Seuss Adaptations Coming to Netflix
This fall, Netflix delves into the whimsical, magical universe of Dr. Seuss, with “Red Fish, Blue Fish” serving as the starting point. Between September and October, Netflix will roll out two new series and a special, all inspired by the cherished author’s characters and stories, as part of their upcoming “Dr. Seuss World.” These titles will join “Green Eggs and Ham,” an animated comedy adventure that spans across two seasons, based on the 1960 book of the same name, which is already available in Netflix’s streaming library.
Coming up next is “Dr. Seuss’s Horton,” an animated series inspired by the adored elephant character from Dr. Seuss’s books. This lovable pachyderm has been a fan favorite, with over 7.9 million copies of various titles featuring him sold. The show will make its debut on October 6th and follows Horton and his best friend Samson as they embark on exciting adventures to assist the residents of the Jungle of Nool. On November 3rd, a special 45-minute production titled “Dr. Seuss’s The Sneetches” will be released. This heartwarming tale introduces us to a Star-Belly and Moon-Belly Sneetch who learn that all Sneetches are equal and there is no superior kind on the beach.
Where To Stream Other Dr. Seuss Adaptations?
Some of Dr. Seuss’ beloved books have been turned into movies, but watching them may require moving between different streaming platforms. For instance, fans who enjoyed the 2008 film “Horton Hears a Who” can stream it on Hulu if they subscribe to their Live TV service. On the other hand, “The Lorax,” released in 2012, is currently available for streaming on Peacock. Unfortunately, other adaptations such as the 2000 version of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and the 2003 film “The Cat in the Hat” can only be rented or purchased at this time.
