Taylor Sheridan’s new series for Paramount+ is shaping up to be a major surprise, potentially changing how viewers think about his work. Hints suggest that Kurt Russell and Matthew Fox, two well-known actors expected to appear, might actually die in the very first episode.
Originally described as a touching exploration of loss and relationships, the show The Madison has shared some plot details. Reports say Amanda Pfeiffer will play Stacy Clyburn, who relocates to the Madison River Valley following a tragic plane crash that killed her husband and brother-in-law. However, recent changes in the cast suggest the show is taking a new direction.
Why The Madison Will Likely Disappoint Kurt Russell & Matthew Fox Fans
Everyone is excited about Russell and his co-star joining The Madison, but it seems they won’t be on the show for very long. Russell will play Preston Clyburn, and his co-star will play Preston’s brother, Paul, who is also married to Stacy. Unfortunately, it appears their characters are destined to die in a tragic accident.
Recent information about The Madison suggests a major character might die in the very first episode. IMDb currently lists Paul Clyburn, a Fox actor, as only appearing in the pilot. This implies he won’t survive the beginning of the show, and creator Taylor Sheridan may be employing a well-known storytelling technique to kick off the series with a shocking event.
Russell’s amount of screen time in The Madison changes a lot. Records show he appears in all six episodes of the first season. It’s doubtful that Preston and Paul will die in separate plane crashes. The most probable scenario is that both brothers die in the first episode, and Russell appears throughout the series in flashback scenes.
Even though his part is small, fans of the actor who played Jack Sheppard will likely be disappointed. However, this shows Sheridan is willing to take big chances with well-known actors to create a strong emotional foundation for The Madison, which People magazine described as Sheridan’s most personal project yet.
The trailer strongly suggests a new storyline is unfolding. It contrasts Michelle Pfeiffer’s character dealing with deep sadness with scenes of Preston and Paul embarking on a risky adventure that puts their lives in danger. We see Preston rushing around inside a private plane, which then takes flight over Montana’s vast landscapes.
Who Are The Mainstay Characters In The Madison?
Though some fans might be disappointed by Fox’s small part, it suggests the series has the potential to be great. The show will stream on Paramount+, and it boasts a talented cast. However, many of the actors fit a familiar pattern seen in other series by Sheridan.
Though well-known actors often draw viewers in, several less famous performers have also joined the cast of The Madison. This isn’t a disadvantage, though. Brandon Sklenar and Julia Schlaepfer, who became fan favorites as Spencer and Alexandra Dutton in 1923, were relatively unknown when that Yellowstone spin-off first aired.
Fans can also look forward to seeing Will Arnett, known for his role as Gob in Arrested Development, appearing as Stacy’s therapist, Phil Yorn. As of now, it’s unclear exactly how many episodes Arnett will be in, according to IMDb. The show is also adding other actors to play members of Stacy’s family.
Beau Garrett and Elle Chapman portray Stacy Clyburn’s daughters, Abigail and Paige. Aminah Miller and Alaina Pollack play Abigail’s daughters, Bridgett and Macy. The actors in The Madison were clearly selected to resemble Michelle Pfeiffer, resulting in a believable and powerful group of women playing Stacy’s family.
I’m really intrigued by how Russell and Fox are involved, especially since it sounds like their roles might be smaller than expected. Even if their characters don’t make it past the first episode, I think it could actually set up a really powerful and emotional story – one that would definitely grab your attention. Either way, getting a peek behind the scenes definitely gives us a better understanding of The Madison and what happened there, and how things might unfold. It’s making me even more excited to watch!
