As we move into 2026, the growing list of successes is impressive. This includes popular movies like F1: The Movie, featuring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, which came out in 2025, and the hit show Shrinking – even with some debate around the Season 3 finale.
The show Shrinking will consist of a strong 33 episodes after its 2023 premiere, demonstrating how well the characters and the series as a whole have resonated with audiences.
I’m really excited about this new series! It stars Jason Segel as a therapist who just…tells it like it is, completely ditching professional boundaries to give his patients brutally honest feedback. And Harrison Ford is in it too, which is amazing! Apparently, he filmed this in between playing a villain and fighting Captain America – Sam Wilson, played by Segel. It sounds wild, a grieving therapist just letting loose with what he really thinks of everyone.
Who Would Try Shrinking Ted Lasso?
Maxwell isn’t the only one who thinks that would be great. Michael Urie, who plays Brian in the Apple TV+ show Shrinking, also imagines Alice joining the world of Ted Lasso.
He suggested that Lukita Maxwell’s character would be a good fit to play football for the team. He added that Alice could potentially play for AFC, and he’s been thinking about this connection because both shows share creators and a streaming platform. Maxwell also playfully suggested he himself would create exciting chemistry if he worked with Hannah Waddingham’s character, imagining a fun dynamic between them.
During the conversation, Jessica Williams, who plays Gaby on the show Shrinking, suggested another potential character to include. Gaby often playfully challenges the character of Jimmy Laird, played by Jason Segel.
Williams initially hesitated, saying “Keely, maybe? Yeah…” before ultimately agreeing with everyone present: “I mean, all of them.”
It’s definitely worth considering, and given how close these two shows are – plus the fact they have the same creators – a crossover isn’t out of the question. The answer to whether it could happen is likely a simple ‘yes’ – if everyone wants it, they can make it happen. Apple, let’s see it!
