A$AP Rocky Address If His Song “Stole Ya Flow” Is a Drake Diss Track

Say, Drake, it looks like A$AP Rocky has beef, too. 

Following the release of his first album since 2018, titled Don’t Be Dumb, the rapper – who has three children, RZA (3), Riot (2), and Rocki (4 months), with Rihanna – strongly hinted that his song “Stole Ya Flow” is aimed at Drake.

As a longtime fan, I remember A$AP Rocky talking about this on the New York Times’ Popcast podcast. When asked about what seemed like references to Drake in his music, he basically explained that he noticed some people he used to consider friends turning into rivals. He said it felt like they were jealous of his success and started subtly dissing him in their own work.

Look, as someone who follows these things closely, it’s clear this issue isn’t going away anytime soon. He basically said the song isn’t a veiled threat – it’s a genuine expression of how he feels, and he doesn’t see a way to mend things with Drake. It’s a pretty firm statement, honestly.

“Nah, it don’t even need to be,” he added, posing rhetorically, “For what?”

Even though he often seemed unbothered in interviews, A$AP Rocky seemed to subtly criticize Drake’s on-again, off-again relationship with Rihanna throughout the 2010s. This was before A$AP Rocky himself started dating Rihanna in 2019.

“First you stole my flow,” A$AP raps on the track, “So I stole your b—h.”

The rapper then sings a line that alludes to Drake’s 2018 song, claiming the person he’s rapping about is still upset.

A$AP Rocky’s latest song might be a reply to what many believe were subtle criticisms from Drake on his 2023 album, For All the Dogs. In the song ‘Fear of Heights’ from that album, Drake, age 39, describes himself as ‘anti’ when thinking about a former partner—a possible nod to Rihanna’s 2016 album ANTI.

Later in the song, Drake references his ex’s new man, claiming he’s not as good as him.

Drake raps, ‘He could take you on dates and maybe even impress you, but nobody will ever compare to me.’

In A$AP’s latest song, he references how “unbothered” both he and Rihanna are by any diss.
