Aaron Rodgers Cuts Press Conference Short With F-Bomb Comment

Aaron Rodgers isn’t fumbling over his words.

After a 30-6 loss to the Houston Texans that ended their season, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback quickly left the post-game press conference.

At a press conference on January 12th, 42-year-old Aaron responded to a question about the future of Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, but seemed annoyed when asked what he’d learned from the 53-year-old coach.

Ugh, he said it again in this video on X (used to be Twitter)! He’s so tired of people asking about Mike, and honestly, he just explained everything in detail – like, right there in that answer! It’s frustrating because he’s already been so open about how he feels, and people just keep pressing him. I’ve seen him talk about it so much, it’s like, we get it! He’s clearly stated his feelings about Mike, and it’s all there if anyone bothered to listen!

Aaron then took his bottle, thanked the reporters, and left.

During the press conference, the four-time NFL MVP—who revealed he married Brittani in June—talked about what’s next for him after the Steelers’ season ended.

He assured the reporters he wouldn’t let his feelings influence his choices. He described the past year as challenging but enjoyable, filled with both difficulties and good times.

Aaron said it’s been a really positive year for him personally, and joining this team was a highlight. That’s why he’s disappointed the season has come to an end.

Aaron said he’s planning to take some time to think about his next career step, and will be talking to the right people to help him decide.

The athlete seems willing to play on, but he’s suggested this season might be his last in the NFL.

He explained on The Pat McAfee Show in June that he believed this was the right contract length, which is why he only signed a one-year deal. The Steelers didn’t feel the need to add any additional years to the agreement.

Aaron explained that he wants to end his career feeling happy, peaceful, and fulfilled, remembering it with fondness.

While Aaron decides what to do next, keep reading to discover other famous people who have taken a break from their careers…

After 19 seasons, The Ellen DeGeneres Show ended in 2022 following accusations of a negative and harmful workplace. These claims led to an internal investigation, the firing of several producers, and widespread public criticism.

Ellen made a comeback with her last standup comedy special, For Your Approval, which premiered on Netflix in September 2024. Before the special aired, she announced her plans to retire from Hollywood.

During her Ellen’s Last Stand…Up tour, the comedian told the audience, according to SFGate, that she plans to retire after releasing a Netflix special. She stated, “This is the last time you’re going to see me.”

Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, have settled in the Cotswolds. Ellen shared with Richard Bacon in July 2025, during a conversation at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, that they decided to remain there after Donald Trump was reelected in November 2024.

She raved about the English countryside, telling the BBC it was ‘absolutely beautiful’ and unlike anything she was used to. She especially loved the charming villages, towns, and architecture, noting it felt like a much simpler way of life.

“It’s just a nicer place,” Ellen explained. “The animals are well cared for, and everyone is so friendly. We really love living here. We moved in November, which wasn’t the best timing, but I finally got to experience snow for the first time! Portia brought her horses with her, I have chickens, and we even had sheep for a couple of weeks.”

Tyra Banks, the host of America’s Next Top Model, decided to move to Australia partly to focus on her ice cream company, SMiZE and Dream. She explained on Today with Jenna & Friends that her business had been primarily supplying ice cream to places like airlines and cruise ships, and she was frequently traveling to Australia where a large production facility was making her recipes. She quickly fell in love with the country during these visits.

Banks also recognized Australia as a strong market for her product, noting that the top three countries for ice cream consumption are the United States, New Zealand, and Australia.

She ultimately moved to Australia with her son, York (whose father is her ex, Erik Asla), and her boyfriend, Louis Bélanger-Martin, expressing that Australia has been a wonderful experience for her and her family.

Eva Longoria, best known for her role on Desperate Housewives, has left Los Angeles and now divides her time between Mexico and Spain. In a November 2024 interview with Marie Claire, she explained that while she spent her entire adult life in LA, the city had changed, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. She cited issues like homelessness and taxes as contributing factors to her decision, though she emphasized she doesn’t want to criticize California.

Longoria, her husband José Bastón, and their son Santiago have been living abroad for a few years. She acknowledges her privilege in being able to leave, expressing concern for those who aren’t so fortunate.

In a November 2024 appearance on The View: Behind the Table podcast, she clarified that her move wasn’t politically motivated, despite speculation following the presidential election. She explained that work commitments – including filming Land of Women in Spain and Searching for Mexico in Mexico – led to an extended stay, and she now prefers to keep the situation separate from politics.

Despite the move, Longoria remains active in her career, with recent roles in Only Murders in the Building and Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip.

Actor Richard Gere has relocated from Chicago to Spain with his family. He explained on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in November 2024 that his wife, Alejandra Silva, who is from Galicia, encouraged the move, and they plan to live in Madrid for several years.

He’s enthusiastic about what this change will mean for their young sons, Alexander and James, noting that they are already bilingual and will thrive in the new environment. Gere also has an adult son, Homer, with his former partner, Carey Lowell.

The family seems to be enjoying the transition. In an interview with Elle España in January 2025, Gere shared, “We are happier than ever,” and described the move as a positive step forward for everyone.

Singer Christina Milian and her family have officially moved to Paris. Married to French singer Matt Pokora for over seven years, the couple previously spent six months of each year commuting between the U.S. and France. They made the decision to fully relocate so their children—Violet (from a previous marriage to The-Dream), and sons Isaiah and Kenna (with Pokora)—could attend school in France. Milian feels it’s a fantastic opportunity for her kids, who are already learning the language and enjoying life in the city. She describes a healthy balance, enjoying an active daytime lifestyle and working ahead of schedule at night. She shared with TopMob in December 2024 that her kids are happy and thriving in their new environment.

Lindsay Lohan is frustrated by the ongoing speculation surrounding her departure from Los Angeles. She recently explained that her busy career and social life in the early 2000s were often overshadowed by intense media attention. In an interview with Bustle in March 2024, she said she wished the focus had been solely on her work, but the constant paparazzi coverage created a narrative that spiraled out of control, prompting her desire for a more private life. While she moved to London and then Dubai, and even started beach clubs in Greece, she also wanted to escape the constant scrutiny and let her work speak for itself.

Lindsay Lohan wondered if she’d ever find love, admitting she worried it might never happen. She realized she needed to focus on herself before things started falling into place and she could say ‘yes’ to the opportunities she truly wanted.

She eventually found love with Bader Shammas, marrying him in 2022 and welcoming their son, Luai, in 2023.

Although they currently live in Dubai, Lindsay hasn’t left acting behind. She’s continued to star in films such as Our Little Secret, Irish Wish, and Freakier Friday.

Josh decided to leave Hollywood after some careful thought. He explained to People magazine in July 2024 that Hollywood isn’t just a location, but a way of life. Being surrounded by people constantly focused on the film industry, he felt, would limit his perspective. He wanted a life with more variety.

“I’ve always wanted to be around people doing different things, things that would take my mind off work and help me grow in new ways,” he said. “That’s what makes life interesting.”

So, Josh, his wife Tamsin Egerton, and their four children moved to the countryside of Hampshire, England. He told The Guardian in July 2024 that time flies by with a large family, and while it might seem like less is happening on the surface, more of what truly matters is. Despite the move, Josh has remained active in his career, appearing in films like Verity, Fight or Flight, and Trap.

If you don’t follow Jesse on social media, you might be surprised to learn he no longer lives in Los Angeles. In a February 2025 interview with CBS News Sunday Morning, the A Real Pain star revealed he’s lived in Indiana for the past ten years, finding it a more comfortable and stable environment. Despite being an Oscar nominee, Jesse leads a surprisingly normal life with his wife, Anna Strout, and son, Banner. He explained that he avoids social media and doesn’t spend much time networking within the entertainment industry. With a teacher for a wife and a son who isn’t even a big movie fan, Jesse feels removed from the pressures of constantly evaluating his place in Hollywood.

Eliza, known for her roles in shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the movie Bring It On (released in 2000), announced in September 2024 that she’s now a certified psychedelic-assisted therapist and is continuing her education in the field of mental health.

She explained to Boston Magazine that she was able to change her life’s path to prioritize her own well-being, with the goal of then helping others heal. She felt it was important to share her personal journey and the sense of peace and passion she’d found, believing this was truly her life’s purpose.

As someone who’s always kept an eye on global trends, I can share that I made a big move in January 2025 – I relocated to Ireland with my son, Clay. It feels wonderful to connect with my family’s roots, as my grandparents were actually Irish, and I’m now working on becoming an Irish citizen. While recent events definitely played a role in my decision, I’m not saying this is goodbye forever to my home country – I’m keeping my options open!

Honestly, it’s been really tough being away from my other children and my friends. I keep thinking about everything I left behind back home, and I’m working hard to build a new life here. We’re loving this beautiful country, but we’re definitely waiting for things to change back in America – when everyone has the same rights and it’s safe for us all, then we’ll start thinking about moving back.

Evangeline Lilly, known for her role in Ant-Man and the Wasp, has said she’s stepping away from acting for an unspecified period of time after two decades in the business.

Honestly, I’m feeling incredibly happy and at peace right now because I’m truly living the life I’ve always envisioned. I’m just so thankful for everything I have! It took courage, but choosing a path guided by purpose—even when it meant letting go of the usual goals like wealth and fame—has been the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. It’s amazing how following your true calling can replace fear with genuine fulfillment.

Okay, so she’s not completely ruling out a return to acting, which is HUGE! She said she might go back to Hollywood eventually, but right now, she’s happy where she is. Honestly, just knowing it’s possible she’ll act again gives me so much hope! I’m trying to be okay with her doing what makes her happy, even if it’s not on screen, but a girl can dream, right?

Since finishing his role on the Netflix series V-Wars in 2019, the actor best known from The Vampire Diaries hasn’t taken on another acting job. Instead, he’s been focusing on a personal mission: fighting climate change by working to improve the health of the world’s soil.

Ian Somerhalder took a break from acting about four years ago to focus on his family, develop his businesses, and get his documentaries released. He told TopMob News in November 2023 that these films – Kiss the Ground (released in 2020) and its sequel, Common Ground – highlight the importance of regenerative farming. He shares two children with his wife, Nikki Reed.

Honestly, I just get him. He says he’s always seen himself years from now, not on a Hollywood set, but on a ranch, building something real – brands that last, like his bourbon and his wellness company. It’s all about how things are made, you know? He and his family are so into regenerative agriculture and taking care of the land, and that’s just… him. That’s who he is and who he’s always been meant to be. So when people ask why he cares so much, it’s because this isn’t a phase, it’s his life’s work! It’s everything.

During a February 2021 episode of her podcast, Empty Inside, former iCarly star Jennette McCurdy revealed to guest Anna Faris that she had stopped acting a few years prior. She’s now pursuing writing and directing opportunities, alongside hosting the podcast.

Jennette shared that she feels deeply ashamed of some of her past acting roles, detailing these feelings in her 2022 memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died. She expressed resentment towards her career, feeling unfulfilled and embarrassed by the parts she played. Having worked on those shows from age 13 to 21, she was already self-conscious by age 15, noting that her peers weren’t particularly impressed by her Nickelodeon work.

She hasn’t ruled out returning to acting completely. In an interview with TopMob News in October 2022, she explained that writing her book helped her consider acting in a new light, potentially free from past pressures. She feels the only way she might consider it again would be if she wrote a role specifically for herself.

It seemed like a pretty easy decision. The chance to marry Prince Harry, focus on the charities we care about, and wear the Queen’s tiaras would make leaving Hollywood completely worthwhile.

Similar to Grace Kelly’s journey from Hollywood to Monaco, Meghan Markle transitioned from her acting career in Toronto, where she starred in the show Suits, to a life within the British Royal Family. Now that she and Prince Harry have stepped down as senior royals and live in California, Meghan is returning to professional life. This includes a multi-year deal with Netflix, where she released the 2022 docuseries Harry & Meghan and will launch a lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, in 2025. She has also started a podcast and launched her brand, As Ever.

After starring in over 40 films since she began her career with 1994’s The Mask, the actress really needed a rest when she finished filming Annie in 2014.

She told Gwyneth Paltrow that she realized she wanted a different lifestyle. After years of intense work and filmmaking, she felt burned out. Making movies, she explained, is incredibly demanding – it requires long hours and complete dedication, leaving no room for anything else in her life.

Cameron Diaz had many interests she wanted to pursue, including writing – she followed up her successful book, The Body Book, with The Longevity Book – and starting a family with her husband, Benji Madden. While she told InStyle magazine in 2019 that she didn’t miss acting and was focused on wellness, it seems she might be open to returning to performing at least once.

Jamie Foxx explained that he and others practically pleaded with Cameron Diaz to star in the upcoming 2025 Netflix movie, Back in Action. “We were on our knees, begging her to do just one more film,” he told TopMob News. “We adore her, we’ve been waiting for her to return, and this is going to be amazing.”

The actor stated he wouldn’t return to acting after completing his five years on Empire. When Extra asked Terrence Howard about his plans before the sixth and final season of the show aired in 2019, he said, “I’m finished with acting. I’m done with pretending.”

Despite appearing in a few projects since then, the Academy Award nominee announced his intention to retire from acting again in 2022 while promoting his Peacock series, The Best Man: The Final Chapters. He explained to Entertainment Tonight that he felt he’d given his all as an actor and now wants to focus on watching and supporting new talent, rather than simply repeating performances he’s already mastered.

Even with those previous concerns, Howard has continued to act, appearing in shows like Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist and the Netflix film Shirley. He also has several new projects planned.

After his character, King Joffrey, died on the show in 2014, the 21-year-old actor told EW he was leaving acting. He explained that he’d been acting since he was eight years old, but simply wasn’t enjoying it as much anymore.

Jack, no longer a young star, felt some of the joy had faded. He explained that turning his hobby into a job was a big shift. “Before, it was just something fun to do with friends, or a summer pastime,” he said. “I did enjoy it, but making a living from something changes how you feel about it. It’s not that I dislike it, I just don’t want it to be my career.”

After a six-year hiatus, Jack returned to acting in 2020 with a role in the BBC series Out of Her Mind. Since then, he’s also been in films like Rebecca’s Boyfriend and In the Land of Saints and Sinners, and TV shows including Safe Harbor and The Famous Five.

When Jennifer Aniston, known for her role in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, married actor Kevin Kline in 1989, they made a plan to balance their careers and family life. Kline explained to Playboy that they would alternate work schedules so they could both care for their children, Owen and Greta (who now performs as the singer Frankie Cosmos).

He added that Phoebe has consistently prioritized staying home with her children whenever she was scheduled to work. While she briefly appeared in a 2001 independent film called The Anniversary Party starring her friend Jennifer Jason Leigh, Cates mainly focuses on running her boutique, Blue Tree, in New York City.

During the peak of his success with films like Ghostbusters and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, the actor paused his career after his wife tragically died from breast cancer in 1991. He wanted to dedicate his time to raising his children, Rachel and Mitchell.

Despite not appearing in a live-action movie since 1997 – he even turned down a small role in the 2016 Ghostbusters remake – Rick remains a beloved figure, as shown by the strong reaction to news of an assault he experienced while walking in New York City in 2020. Fortunately, fans will be happy to hear he’s returning to the screen alongside Josh Gad in the upcoming Disney reboot, Shrunk.

After marrying fashion designer Adam Kimmel in 2010, actress Drew Barrymore suggested she was considering stepping back from acting. She told Vogue that most acting roles require a lot of intimate scenes, and that wasn’t something she wanted to pursue. She explained that taking on such roles felt risky, and unless a project was truly exceptional, the potential cost to her relationship wasn’t worth it.

After her son, Martin, joined his sister, Louisanna, in 2014, she firmly decided to step away from acting. She told Us Weekly in 2016 that she was happy being a mom and focusing on family, explaining, “I don’t do movie stuff anymore. I am totally an outsider!” She also mentioned she helps her husband, Kimmel, with his work and enjoys painting as a hobby, adding that her children were the main reason she stopped pursuing acting.

She’d built a successful career with roles in popular shows like Ally McBeal, Nip/Tuck, Arrested Development, and Scandal. After all that, the Australian actress started to feel like it was time for a change.

Turning 45, I started thinking about trying something completely new and challenging,” she shared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2018. “I had a good idea of what my acting career would look like for the next decade or two, so I decided to leave it behind and start my own business instead.

She was almost finished with her consumer art business, General Public – she just had one final piece to complete.

I spoke with Mitch Hurwitz, the creator of Arrested Development, and told him I wouldn’t be interested in a fifth season because I had decided to stop acting. He was very understanding and supportive, and we had a good talk. Surprisingly, he ended up writing my character into five episodes.

It’s understandable why, after winning three Oscars, an actor might consider what else there is to achieve. Following his sixth Academy Award nomination for his 2017 film, Phantom Thread, the actor announced through his representative that he was retiring from acting. The statement expressed his gratitude to colleagues and fans over the years, and clarified that this was a personal decision, with no further comments to be made.

Just as Daniel Day-Lewis had announced his retirement from acting, a new project drew him back in. In October 2024, Focus Features revealed he would star in Anemone, a film he co-wrote with his son, Ronan Day-Lewis, who will also be directing.

After finding fame on the show Good Luck Charlie, she decided to focus on her education in 2018. She went on to earn both a master’s degree and a PhD from MIT, and also attended Harvard Law School.

On top of everything else, Bridgit founded Northwood Space, a startup focused on building ground stations for sending and receiving data from satellites. She became the company’s CEO in February 2023.
