Currently, Abbott Elementary stands out as one of the few traditional comedies on the network.

When Abbott Elementary returns for the 2026-2027 season, it will have aired over 100 episodes – a significant achievement in today’s television landscape where shows are often cancelled after just a few seasons. The renewal for season 6 isn’t surprising, as the show has been a critical and commercial success for ABC, averaging 6.16 million viewers per episode in January when counting viewers across all platforms.

When Will Abbott Elementary Season 6 Release?

With the popularity of streaming services, it’s become common for TV shows to come back with new seasons at unpredictable times.
