Abiotic Factor launches July 22

The sci-fi survival crafting game titled “Abiotic Factor” is set to exit Early Access and make its debut on July 22, for platforms like PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. This announcement comes from publishers Playstack and developers Deep Field. Additionally, it will be accessible as a day-one release for both the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and Game Pass subscribers.

On May 2, 2024, Abotic Factor initially debuted through Early Access on Steam for personal computers. In its final version, players can opt for cross-platform compatibility across all systems.

In the context of gaming, “Abiotic Factor” is a survival game that can be played solo or with up to six players, immersing you in the dark underbelly of an underground research facility. Amidst a supernatural breakdown, a power struggle among military forces, and turmoil from various dimensions, the world’s brightest minds find themselves battling some of the universe’s most dangerous adversaries to stay alive.

Story

Residing as a hub for the brightest intellects worldwide, GATE manages a covert system of laboratories across diverse scientific disciplines and even the unknown realms, globally.

Working as a GATE employee, you push the limits of human understanding, aiming to clarify the inexplicable – from peculiar artifacts that bend gravity to violent supernatural entities. Maintaining safety, security, and confidentiality is crucial – most of the time.

Following a disastrous rupture of containment, your workplace has transformed into a chaotic battleground in the cosmos: strange entities are roaming freely, adversaries from different dimensions are storming through portals, and a secretive military faction called The Order is attacking both personnel and entities without discrimination. Their goal is to seize artifacts and quell the turmoil.

As a dedicated researcher, I find myself stranded deep below the earth’s surface, far from any hope of rescue. The containment measures have collapsed, and it seems help will never arrive. In this dire situation, it falls upon me and my fellow scientists to unite, strategize our escape, and adapt to transforming this subterranean complex into our temporary refuge.

Gameplay

In this new take on the multiplayer open-world survival crafting genre, Abiotic Factor infuses a ’90s sci-fi atmosphere and intricate character development. Teams of up to six players can select their PhDs, customize their scientist characters, equip themselves, and delve into a colossal underground labyrinth. This complex is teeming with supernatural relics, interdimensional adversaries, and science experiments run amok.
