Amidst the flurry of game announcements last July, Deep Field Games quietly released *Abiotic Factor*, a survival and crafting game with a visual style reminiscent of the original *Half-Life*. The game quickly gained popularity, reaching 1.5 million sales by August after its full launch on consoles. Now, the developers are planning to continue supporting the game with free updates, the first of which is scheduled to arrive this fall.
The update adds more ways to customize your experience with new sandbox options and difficulty levels like Apocalyptic, Hardcore, and Iron modes. Players can also improve their character’s physique with exercise equipment, and will find new items to collect, including a bench, upgraded weapons, a battery charging crate, and skill perks. Plus, there are some exciting new cosmetic items hinting at a collaboration with the popular card game, *Balatro*.
Players can look forward to new content throughout 2026. A new home world, Temple of Stone, will be released as downloadable content, with another arriving as a free winter gift. This winter update also includes a mysterious Portal World and improvements to the game’s food system. A free update is planned for Spring 2026, though details are currently unknown. In Summer 2026, a larger DLC pack will add a new sector to explore, further developments to Portal Worlds, new enemies, and another new home world, alongside other additions.
There’s even more content on the way, but the developer isn’t sharing details just yet – so keep an eye out for updates! *Abiotic Factor* is now available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC, and is also included with Game Pass and PlayStation Plus.
