Absolute Batman Reveals The Grossest Upgrade To The Batsuit In Decades

The Batsuit is just one of the numerous tools Batman uses, yet the recent enhancement to it is downright terrifying. The reimagining of Batman’s lore in “Absolute Batman” has significantly altered our understanding of the Dark Knight’s mythology, encompassing not only his classic rogues but also the city of Gotham itself. Over time, the Batsuit has experienced numerous alterations and improvements, but alongside the utility belt, it serves as a constant in Batman’s battle against crime. The phrase “the suit makes the man” may be familiar, but it doesn’t always apply to Batman. However, what if the man was also the suit? We’re on the verge of discovering that.

*Spoiler Alert for Absolute Batman #10*

Issue #10 of Absolute Batman, penned by Scott Snyder, Nick Dragotta, Frank Martin, and Clayton Cowles

In this storyline, Batman confronts the formidable Bane from the Absolute Universe, one of his toughest adversaries across all realities. Compared to regular Batman, Absolute Bane is a force to be reckoned with. In this issue, we see Batman trying to rescue his close friend, Waylon Jones, better known as Killer Croc, from Arkham. However, things take an unexpected turn when Batman himself gets captured by Bane.

Bane seizes the opportunity to disarm Bruce Wayne of his iconic Batsuit and orders Dr. Arkham to conduct tests on him. Interestingly, Dr. Arkham discovers that Batman’s entire body has transformed into a Batsuit.

Absolute Batman Hides an Arsenal of Weapons Inside His Body

When Dr. Arkham initiates an audio record about Batman’s captivity, she discloses that once they extracted his Batsuit, which set off various self-made trap mechanisms, their scans uncovered that Bruce carries concealed weapons all over his body. Consequently, it became evident that Batman had strategically decided to equip himself with the means of escape if he ever got caught and deprived of his Batsuit. What’s striking is the difference between having a lockpick tucked away in your mouth versus incorporating your entire being with readily deployable contraband.

In my humble opinion as a film critic, the extensive array of gadgets surgically extracted from the body of Bruce Wayne encompasses an impressive assortment of defensive and offensive tools. This collection includes tear gas pellets, acid pellets, explosive pellets, sedative pellets, hallucinogenic pellets, a comprehensive lockpick kit, blow darts, finger blades, knuckle blades, toe blades, push daggers, trench daggers, multiple throwing shuriken, and a collapsible, spiked war-club. Quite an arsenal, indeed!

The collection of weapons inside him is truly remarkable, given that Absolute Batman is an exceptionally well-built individual, standing at 6 feet 9 inches tall and tipping the scales at 421 pounds. In other words, Bruce Wayne is seldom seen without some form of the Batsuit. This brings up an intriguing question: How does Batman access these items when the situation demands it?

The Next Evolution of the Batsuit Is Upon Us

In many ways, the Batsuit and its utility belt are essential gear for Batman. It’s often said that Batman is ready for any circumstance, and a large part of this readiness lies in what he carries with him in the suit. Whether it’s an explosive, lockpick, wire, or smoke pellet, if Batman needs it, he can pull it from the Batsuit. However, a recent revelation in Absolute Batman #10 suggests that even Bruce Wayne, his civilian identity, is prepared for action at all times. Keeping track of Batman can be tricky, especially when you consider that under normal circumstances, he’s always wearing a Batsuit.

Here’s another illustration demonstrating that DC’s Absolute Universe is even bleaker than the primary DC Universe: Bruce Wayne may not necessarily require being Batman. The only individual he feels compelled to safeguard is his mother, Martha Wayne. In a thrilling breakout from Arkham Asylum, Batman once again dons his official suit, and during this adventure, he encounters Waylon Jones, who has been transformed into a massive crocodile due to his moniker as “Croc.

Absolute Batman says that the man doesn’t make the costume. The man is the costume.
