For Adam Sandler, working with his kids is a hole in one.
The former Saturday Night Live star mused about the experience of collaborating with his daughters Sadie (age 19) and Sunny (age 16), whom he has with his wife Jackie Sandler, on various films, including the upcoming Happy Gilmore sequel set to premiere on Netflix on July 25.
In an exclusive interview to be aired on July 16, Adam shared with TopMob News his heartfelt feelings: “Wow, I’m so relieved! When your child excels at something, there’s nothing more satisfying as a parent. It’s like being the parents of a baseball player and seeing them hit a home run – you just can’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
Apart from the joy he experienced over the outstanding performance in the golf film, where Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald reprise their characters, while new faces like Travis Kelce and Bad Bunny join the cast, Adam Sandler, star of Uncut Gems, was careful not to dispense unwanted guidance.
He added, ‘It should go that way only if they request it. However, usually, one is simply joyful when they are feeling well.’
Regarding their sense of happiness or well-being, it’s clear that Sadie and Sunny, who appeared with their father in films such as 2020’s “Hubie Halloween” and 2023’s “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah,” don’t need to exclaim “Fore!” as a sign they’re content.
Adam clarified that acting is a passion shared by his two children. One of them delved into it during their school days, while the other continues to explore it throughout high school. They often discuss this topic enthusiastically.
Beyond enjoying their father’s films, Sadie and Sunny also find delight in the company of Adam’s frequent co-star, Drew Barrymore. In fact, Drew shared a heartwarming story about unexpectedly finding one of her children and one of Adam’s daughters watching their 2000s romantic comedy, “50 First Dates.
In the November episode of her self-named talk show, Drew expressed, “Aren’t you both tired of seeing more of me and my father?
In anticipation of the release of “Happy Gilmore 2” on Netflix, slated for July 25, let’s take a trip down memory lane and reminisce about Adam and his daughters over the years.
