As a long-time AEW fan with a heart full of nostalgia for the days of ladder matches and high-flying action, I can’t help but feel my adrenaline pumping at the thought of the upcoming Trios Championships London Ladders Match at All In. The Patriarchy might think they have this in the bag, but with PAC, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta joining the fray, it’s going to be a wild ride.
Before the AEW All In event, there was a final stop in Cardiff for tonight’s edition of AEW Collision. While the lineup for All In is mostly confirmed, there was one more vacancy left in the Trios Championships London Ladder Match. This match will see Christian Cage and The Patriarchy defending their titles against three other teams, with a wildcard team still to be determined. Tonight’s show would decide this mystery team, featuring Top Flight (Dante Martin and Darius Martin) supported by Lio Rush, and the unconventional trio of PAC, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta. In the end, it was PAC, Claudio, and Wheeler who emerged victorious and will now face Christian Cage and The Patriarchy for the London Ladders Trios Titles at All In.
Can’t Dodge Your Challengers
Over the recent weeks, The Patriarchy has been eliminating potential challenges to their Trios Championship rule, and they’ve managed to execute this plan quite effectively. However, last week brought a change when Interim AEW Executive Vice President Christopher Daniels informed Cage and his group that they would need to defend the Trios Titles against three other teams at All In. This news did not sit well with the Champions at all.
Over the last few weeks, Christian Cage has been putting forth all his efforts to eliminate every competitor vying for the Trios Championships. However, Daniels guarantees fans that if Christian Cage aspires to keep his title at All In, he will face no easy route. The Patriarchy plans to defend their titles against The Bang Bang Gang, The House of Black, and an additional team yet to be decided in a wild card match at Cardiff Collision. These four teams will converge at All In for a London Ladders Match, aiming to claim the AEW Trios Championship.
The Competition
As a die-hard AEW fan, I must admit that there aren’t many left in AEW who The Patriarchy haven’t ruffled feathers with, and that list includes the House of Black and The Bang Bang Gang, both of whom have been announced for the upcoming match. Tonight, PAC, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta officially join the fray, all of whom share no affection for the Champions. Each team is eager to snatch those Trios Championships at All In, so while The Patriarchy might still hold a puncher’s chance, their title reign could be coming to an end this weekend if they can’t find a way to turn the tide in their favor.
Ladder matches are rarely not thrilling, but when you look at the talent that’s involved in this particular match, especially someone synonymous with them like Christian, it’s hard not to get hyped for this one in particular. With a talent pool that includes Buddy Matthews, PAC, Brody King, Jay White, and Claudio, this match has the potential to be one of if not the best match of the night, even against some of the big matches elsewhere on the card.
