AEW Star Shatters Unbreakable Record At WrestleDream (And It May Never Be Topped)

AEW’s *WrestleDream* event featured several exciting matches that lived up to the hype. However, the company kept a few surprises under wraps, including the opponent and the potential outcome of one particular bout. Ultimately, one AEW wrestler achieved something truly historic, breaking a record many believed would never fall. If they continue on this path, this new record could remain unbroken for years to come.

Tonight’s WrestleDream event featured several major AEW championships, including Mercedes Mone’s TBS Championship. Mone issued an open challenge for her title, with the added condition that only a champion could accept, and they would have to risk their own championship in the match. Mina Shirakawa answered the challenge, putting her Interim ROH Women’s World TV Championship on the line. However, Mone won the match, breaking Ultimo Dragon’s long-standing record and potentially creating a new one that may never be broken.

Ultimo Dragon is a famous wrestler known for once holding 10 championship titles at the same time – a truly amazing feat. When Skye Mone adopted the ‘Belt Collector’ persona, many wondered if she’d be able to surpass that record before inevitably losing some of her titles. She’s proven them wrong, consistently adding to her collection just like trading cards. Tonight, she defeated Shirakawa and now boasts an impressive 11 championships.

Mone and Shirakawa put on a thrilling match, with both wrestlers giving it their all. Though the fight was incredibly close several times, Mone ultimately won, adding Shirakawa’s championship title to her own. After the victory, Mone playfully tweeted, “Último Moné > Ultimo Dragon.” So far, Ultimo Dragon hasn’t replied, but fans are curious to see if this will spark a rivalry.

As a huge wrestling fan, the arrival of Ultimo Mone has me wondering just how many championships she’ll ultimately collect. Right now, she’s at 11, and the big question is whether she’ll add one or two more to that total, or if this is where things start to slow down. She didn’t hesitate to go for another one, immediately challenging Kris Statlander for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Full Gear after being taken down. If she wins, she’ll hit 12 titles, which is incredible! Only time will tell, but if she keeps racking up wins, she could end up holding this record for a very, very long time.
