Okay, folks, get ready! Uma Thurman is stepping back into the world of Kill Bill, and it’s not quite what you’d expect. This year is huge for Tarantino’s classic, as it’s hitting theaters again on December 5th, but with a really cool update. We’re finally going to see Kill Bill exactly as Quentin Tarantino envisioned it – a massive 271-minute experience! They’ve even added brand new animation to seamlessly connect the two parts of the film, which is a fantastic treat for fans.
Quentin Tarantino has directed a new short film, “Yuki’s Revenge,” a missing scene from Kill Bill. Surprisingly, it will premiere on Fortnite on November 30th. This is part of a large Kill Bill event within the game, which also includes a free character skin of Yuki Yubari. Epic Games and Tarantino have teamed up to create what’s expected to be one of Fortnite’s biggest events ever.

Why Kill Bill is Back in 2025
I was really fascinated to hear Quentin Tarantino talking on The Church of Tarantino podcast last August about why he feels now is the perfect moment to revisit Kill Bill. It’s exciting to think about, and he laid out his reasoning so clearly!
I preferred to wait until I fully owned the project before doing anything with it, and now that I do, I’m ready to share it. I already have a print and occasionally show it at the New Beverly Cinema, so people can see it. While I appreciate my past work, I’m not interested in constantly revisiting or building upon it.
I had many plans for what to do with Kill Bill after finishing it, but it was a really difficult film to make. I needed a break from it for a while. I also wanted to maintain complete ownership. In a world where everything is readily available and controlled by corporations for profit, I wanted Kill Bill to be different. I wanted people to experience it in my theater, rather than just owning a copy on DVD or Blu-ray that might sit unwatched. Once you own something, it loses some of its impact.
So, Quentin Tarantino says the reason we’re revisiting Kill Bill is pretty straightforward: he’s gotten the rights back! He felt like any studio trying to expand Kill Bill into a bigger franchise should not be the one profiting from it, and now he’s free to explore that world himself. It’s clear he’s really leaning into the possibilities, even teaming up with Epic Games for a Fortnite event. And get this – if you buy a ticket to see Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, you’ll actually get a code for a Gogo Yubari skin in the game! It’s a fun little tie-in that shows how much potential there is with this revival.
Fortnite continues to build successful partnerships, and the recent collaboration with The Simpsons proved incredibly popular, attracting more returning players than ever before. Epic Games is likely hoping the new partnership inspired by Kill Bill will have a similar effect.
