It’s been a year since the end of Solo Leveling‘s second season, and there’s still no news about Season 3. The second season finished with the popular Jeju Island Arc, featuring the battle between Jinwoo and the Ant King. Solo Leveling already had a huge fanbase thanks to the original web novel by Chugong and its manhwa adaptation. But the anime, created by A-1 Pictures, took the series to a whole new level, making it a worldwide hit. While the story is complete in the web novel and manhwa, the anime still has much more to reveal about this fascinating world.
The Crunchyroll Anime Awards for 2026 have announced the nominees in all categories, as fans eagerly await news about Season 3 of various shows. The Anime of the Year award is always a highlight, and everyone wonders which popular series will win. This year, though, ‘Solo Leveling,’ a big winner last year, faces tough competition.
Solo Leveling Season 2 Isn’t Nominated For Crunchyroll Awards’ Anime of the Year

The first season of Solo Leveling won Anime of the Year last year, which caused a lot of debate among fans. It also received several other awards, including Best New Anime, Best Animation, and Best Main Character. The win was particularly controversial because it beat out highly-rated shows like Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and The Apothecary Diaries. However, the award was decided by public vote, so it’s not entirely unexpected given Solo Leveling’s popularity.
This year, Season 2 wasn’t nominated for the top award, despite being a significant improvement over Season 1 in terms of story and animation. Instead, it’s up for several other awards, including Best Continuing Series, Best Animation, and Best Action Anime. While it likely won’t win Anime of the Year again this year, it’s still expected to win several other categories.
Solo Leveling Season 3 Will Change Everything Fans Know About The Story

During a dangerous event on Jeju Island, Jinwoo single-handedly overcame a major threat to global safety, successfully completing the S-Rank Dungeon Break. This was the first time the world had seen his abilities since he officially became Korea’s newest S-Rank Hunter. While Jinwoo is currently the strongest Hunter in Korea, he still has many powerful individuals around the world to encounter.
He finally reached his main goal: healing his mother from Eternal Slumber, a widespread illness affecting those without powers ever since the Gates opened ten years ago. While he’s succeeded in this, his adventures aren’t over. The next part of the story will be a turning point, revealing secrets about the world and a past war that drastically changed it.
