Netflix’s live-action version of the manga 10 Dance, released on December 18, 2025, unexpectedly became a huge international success. The Boys’ Love manga, originally published in 2011, hadn’t gained much global attention until the recent release of the live-action film, 10DANCE. Directed by Keishi Otomo, who is known for adapting Rurouni Kenshin and March Comes in Like a Lion, the film quickly became incredibly popular on Netflix, racking up millions of views worldwide within a week. While it’s too early to confirm a sequel, the story has plenty of material left, so an announcement could come later.
It’s unusual for most live-action movies to get a sequel, but 10DANCE might be an exception due to its huge popularity. The film stays true to the overall story and feeling of the original manga, though it does change some character details and the speed at which the story unfolds. The manga itself has seven volumes, all available digitally on Kodansha’s website. Because the film has been so successful, the manga is constantly selling out, and the author, Inoue, has shared some exciting news for fans.
The 10 Dance Manga Is Getting Reprints Following The Film’s Success

I’m so excited to share that all the volumes of the manga are getting reprinted again! Inoue-sensei announced it on her X account, and she said she’s incredibly thankful that, after the December reprints, January will see all existing volumes back in print too. It’s amazing to see this continued support!
She mentioned that many fans have been finding the manga volumes sold out in stores and online. When she checked with her editor, they explained that the manga is selling exceptionally well, causing the shortages. They apologized for the inconvenience and said they’re rushing to print more copies. The new stock should be available in bookstores across the country around the 16th of this month, and will be sold at the regular price.
She expressed her gratitude to fans for their ongoing support and announced that new copies will be available starting January 16, 2026.
What Is The Plot of 10 Dance?

Shinya Sugiki and Shinya Suzuki are two talented dancers who seem worlds apart. Sugiki excels in traditional ballroom, earning him the title ‘Lord of Standard Ballroom,’ while Suzuki is a free-spirited Latin dance sensation known as the ‘King of Latin Dance.’ Despite their clashing styles and personalities, they must learn to work together if they hope to win the highly competitive 10 Dance Competition as a team. The only real difference between them? A single syllable in their names.
The dance competition is a long and demanding one, requiring each duo to perform ten different styles of both standard ballroom and Latin dance. Because Sugiki has never done Latin dance before, he makes a deal with Suzuki: he’ll teach Suzuki standard ballroom if Suzuki teaches him Latin. As they practice together, they start to understand each other better, and a surprising romance develops.
