In interviews, Alan Ritchson, known for playing Reacher, has shared doubts about taking on the role of Batman in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe. This seems to suggest that it’s not likely he will portray Bruce Wayne in the upcoming continuity. When asked about his future within the franchise, Ritchson mentioned his interest in playing characters other than Batman and Aquaman, two notable DC Comics characters.

When asked about possibly playing Aquaman again, given his initial portrayal of the character on Smallville, Ritchson stated, “No, I wouldn’t dare take that role from Momoa, as I hold him in high regard. I adore Jason Momoa.” He further mentioned, “However, I’d be interested in venturing into uncharted territories, and I have a feeling we might. We’ll see.” Even though Momoa is moving on to play Lobo in the DCU, Ritchson made it clear that he has no intentions of taking over as Aquaman.

Ritchson has previously portrayed notable DC character roles. He depicted Hawk in Titans and Aquaman across multiple seasons of Smallville. His Aquaman worked alongside Clark Kent, Green Arrow, Bart Allen, and Victor Stone. In the tenth season, it was disclosed that his character had married Mera and battled Slade Wilson.
