While *Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle* remains the highest-grossing anime film of all time, the *Chainsaw Man* franchise is currently experiencing a surge in popularity. Recent manga sales data from Oricon (September 22nd-28th) shows *Chainsaw Man* outselling *Demon Slayer* by a significant margin, with 172,517 copies sold compared to *Demon Slayer*’s 77,796.
Tatsuki Fujimoto’s *Chainsaw Man* manga continues to achieve incredible success. Oricon recently reported that over 31 million copies of the manga are now in circulation across its 22 volumes. The latest volume came out just before the movie premiered in Japan on September 4th, and strong positive reactions to the film have boosted manga sales, leading to this impressive milestone. With the movie set to release in the U.S. soon, sales are predicted to increase even more.

The newest volume of the *Chainsaw Man* manga is currently only available in Japan, but with sales figures becoming available globally, fans are anticipating another increase in popularity. This growth will likely accelerate when the movie comes out in the U.S., as many American fans will discover the story and turn to the manga to continue it after the Reze Arc. While *Chainsaw Man*’s total sales are still lower than *Demon Slayer*’s impressive 220 million copies, this latest achievement is a big win. Compared to other popular manga like *Black Clover*, which has sold 24 million copies over 37 volumes, *Chainsaw Man* is performing very well. As the manga seems to be approaching the end of Part 2, sales are expected to continue rising.
While *Demon Slayer* became popular thanks to its incredible animation and the quick release of a movie, *Chainsaw Man*’s success comes down to its compelling story. What makes *Chainsaw Man* different for a typical action manga is its unique protagonist and constantly developing plot, which is both unusual and fascinating. This sets it apart, and its biweekly releases consistently attract a huge audience. Although it hasn’t yet reached *Demon Slayer* in total sales, and many chapters still need to be adapted into anime, fans believe *Chainsaw Man* could eventually catch up – or even surpass – it in popularity.
